“Fantastic little place - original boutique hotel”

Had a great 3 night stay at this hotel, most comfortable room, great windows, excellent bathroom. Gorgeous original art deco features, and sympathetic modern touches too. The hotel is in a superb location, with a metro station all of two minutes walk away. Will be back!

“Summer in Paris”

I went to Paris with my Mum for her birthday. We stayed at the Best Western Mercedes. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very helpful member of staff who gave us maps of Paris so that we could find our way around and told us about the major attractions to visit in the area. The lady upgraded our room upon arrival as we had a double room booked. We were upgraded to a lovely room with twin beds. Although the hotel was small in comparison to some in the area it was spotlessly clean. Our room was excellent. The only fault we could find were the absence of tea making facilities. We felt that the hotel was in a good situation and was very good value for money. We would book at this hotel.

“Great Hotel”

This hotel was in a good area with an incredible patisserie and a cafe next door. The room was not to small and was very well kept.

“good location & friendly front desk people”

First time in Paris. We could see from our balcony the Arc de Triomphe (at the distance) which was really nice. The room was clean and comfortable. We could definitely go back to this hotel.

Very nice staff who can provide whatever you ask for. Good bathroom, but few non-french tv channels.

“A different kind of hotel”

This was one of the rare occasions I was pleasantly surprised by a hotel. My wife and I had rolled the dice and used a "Secret Hotel" booking. We got a good deal in terms of price, then a bit appointed to get a Best Western hotel. Only because I do a lot of business travel and they are generally more business type. On arrival we found Wagram Metro station to be on the opposite side of the same block. Easy to find, just walk around the block either direction from the exit and you'll find it. This is a boutique hotel, taken over by Best Western and still has that feel. Original Art Deco styling, odd shaped hotel with odd shaped rooms (only 4 per floor), odd shaped mirrors on the recommended the walk down the stairs, impossibly small lift (max. about 3 people). Bear in mind that generally 4* in France is about 3* actual, this was on par in my experience, with ups and downs in condition, service and facilities that didn't take away from the overall experience. Sure this is a quirky hotel, they have breakfast facilities (not used) but no proper restaurant. We ordered room service on the night we arrived and, given no restaurant, received high quality, cold (as designed) food. That said, using the chicken club sandwich as a standard measure of quality across hotels, this was one of the best I've ever had; tasty, moist and crunchy on the outside. This hotel is probably not for everyone, but if you want one that's not a cardboard cut-out of another hotel, then try this one.

“Mercedes, avenue de Wagram”

Attractive, clean hotel with nice quality rooms, with everything I need, including free wifi. Staff are helpful, efficient and speak good English. Breakfast is pretty expensive at 17euro, but there's plenty of cafes on the street outside if you prefer.

“Hotel in excellent location”

This hotel is based in an excellent location, there is a metro stop next to it. I'd advise anyone going to Paris to use the Metro to get around everyday, it'll take you anywhere you want to go. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, most of them have English menus available of English speaking staff, which was good as my French is very poor! There is a small supermarket next to the hotel and a couple of greengrocers open later, good for buying bottled water as the minibar in the room is very expensive. The hotel staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English. the lights in the hallways go off automatically, so be sure to find the switch to turn them back on. The room was small but had everything we needed, the safe came in very useful. The bed was very uncomfortable, instead of being a king bed it was two singles pushed together, we struggled to get a good nights sleep. The bathroom is a good size, but the shower screen leaks so you end up with half the water on the floor! Also the walls are very thin, we heard people coming up the stairs through the night, and toilets being flushed and showers running. The tv has no English channels, but we found a cinema near the Arc de Triomphe that shows original versions of films.

“Good hotel. Would consider going back.”

The Mercedes was a nice hotel with friendly staff. I only had one small complaint. There was a gap between the whoer screen and the bath which meant that there was always a puddle on the floor after showering. Otherwise, for the price it was a very reasonable hotel.
