“A nice hotel”
Staff very friendly, bathrooms are looking old and need a bit more of upkeep. Little bit of mould in bathroom. Room its self was clean and bed was good. Walls are thin but only 5 rooms per floor. Very close to train station and a 25 minute walk into main parts of Paris. Subway line/station only 2 mins walk away! Very good place to stay for the price and for Paris!
“Barock”
While close to the subway, the hotel is fairly far from the city center. Rooms have no ventilation or A/C, just heat. But location in a very loud street which does not permit open windows at night. The theme in the rooms is red and black, and along with pictures of half-naked women wearing masks, that invokes the red light district theme, which then instills subconscious doubts regarding the cleanliness of this place. The management is not very agile. Our sink was not draining and the doors in the shower cabin were "permanently fixed" with rusty wires, thus barely movable. It's all OK, and since Paris is such a great city any hotel will pass. But this is definitely not a four star place (even by european standards, 2 1/2 max) and the location is not superb. You would be much better off staying at Novotel Bercy if you want a clean 4-star place, or in a 3-star hotel in the city center. Thus, no real reason to stay there again.
“Not a 4 star rating but a good value budget hotel.”
The hotel was easy to find and is well situated for walking to all sorts of places if you don't want to take the Metro. The decor throughout the hotel left a little to be desired, as it was rather dark and "boudoir" like with a penchant for black and red but, the bed was comfortable! The small window in the bedroom opened wide but, as the hotel was just off a busy main road it was quite noisy early morning when the dustbin men came round! The windows were double glazed but, it was too hot to close them and the air-conditioning didn't work. The shower room was adequate. It was always clean and fresh towels were supplied every day. Unfortunately, there was an unpleasant, drain type, smell that occassionally greeted you when you first opened the door but, if the door was left open during the day, it soon disappeared! There was a tiny wardrobe with the usual type of hotel hangers. There was also a small chest of drawers inside this cupboard! There was a tv, fridge and full length mirror. Wi-fi was free, when you had asked for a password. Breakfast was available but, at 15e per head, was rather expensive and there were many eating places close by which served a simple, cheaper alternative. You don't want to use the small spiral staircase, as it is badly lit but, the lift worked well, although it only just held two people and a couple of suitcases!
“why 4 star?”
Location is so good. Breakfast is so good. Room is not so good. Light of corridor and stairs is off, when we check in after. When we light on stairs, Red light is on.
“Gorgeous Enterance but thats all the excitement!”
This hotel has a Gorgeous Lobby but not that amazing... rooms very small. The hairdryer kept breaking, our bathroom sink plugged. Only bathgel and soap no shampoo and conditioner just fyi. This was no restocked upon our second night. Staff was friendly enough to us but dont think I would stay here again unfortunately it was enough for the weekend in Paris. The location is okay but a bit of walk to the first metro I would try for something more central to the city to be honest... paris is walking distance for flat shoes but you do cover some ground so the closer to the main drag the better!
“Hotel Barock”
“Horrible Hotel”
Hotel Barrock is a 2 star hotel that managed to get 4 stars by having a hair dryer, phone, elevator, and TV. My double room was miniscule, with insufficient lighting, and decorated in mid-century bordello (black and red walls). In 4 nights the two very thin, cheap towels were changed only once--when I requested them. I assumed the next night they would be changed again, but they weren't. The whole place was depressing and really threw a damper on my whole visit.
“not for demanding clients”
Very small room, but quite clean sheets and bathroom. You could hear noises from the other rooms. Definitely not 4 stars!!!! Two stars the most. Neibourhood vivid, near metro station.
“Dont come here!”
Most horrible hotel ever, keep looking dont even consider this hotel. The rooms are tiny and dirty and the staff are very very unfriendly.
