“Was I happy with this Hotel?”

The Best Western Montcalm is a lovely hotel in a good location with very easy access to the Metro. A good selection of bars just on the doorstep. The hotel is typical of many Paris hotels in that the room was small. But the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable with a good hot shower. I only stayed 1 night and this is where I found my problem 11.30pm at night when I found I could not sleep I found that the aircon unit in the room did not work. If I stay here again, which I would if I need a hotel in this area I will check the AirCon. That would be my advice check the AIrCon as soon as you get in a room so you have time to get it fixed or change room.

“Dare to stay out of Paris centre; city's small!”

The only reason I gave a 3 for comfort of the room was the mattress; it had seen better days, but not quite bad enough to mention to reception. Room was fairly tight, but no less typical of many city hotels, especially when on single occupancy. Although considered a slightly more business and residential area of Paris, I would not hesitate to recommend the location. Quick metro routes to everywhere in Paris and plenty of typical Parisienne, or more modern, bistros and cafes within 1 (one) - 15 minutes walk.
