Appi Hotel is the lovechild of a penniless Salvador Dalí (check out the weird clocks in the reception room) and a hippy who wanted to live in a Parisian Soho. our room was on the top floor of the building, which although it had fantastic views, was a bit of a slog to get up the stairs! the decor was basic and clean. small ensuite bathroom, but was very bright and spacious. he beds were very comforable and the view of the parisian archecture was lovely in the sunlight out of the french doors! tlocation was perfect for walking distance with most central Parisian sights (we went to the Ile de la Cité a lot!) and right next to several metro/rer stations. the hotel is on the Rue S. Denis, which is what London's Soho would be if it were one long road. although some might be apprehensive about the sex shops nearby- there is no trouble to be found. i stayed with my dad (i'm 22 and he's 62) as we went to Paris one day then Disneyland the next. found the hotel perfect for our needs. brilliant value for money, ideal for short-stay travellers, backpackers, students, single travellers.

“Some problems, but cheap and good location”

The fact is, you aren't going to get a deal like this anywhere else in Paris, so keep that in mind while I make my criticisms. When I was walking to the hotel, I was a bit concerned about all the sex shops and peep shows along the way. The actual hotel looks like it's a conversion from a small apartment building owned by a family. I arrived at about 1 PM and they told me to leave my luggage and come back at 4 PM since check-in wasn't until then. The lobby was very small and filled with peoples' luggage. I never seen this before, so it was a bit concerning. I took all my valuables along with me. However, when I returned later, not only were my personal belongings untouched, but when I got to the room, it was pretty clean. My only gripe was that there was only a sheet on the bed to lay on and none to cover with. I doubt they wash the comforter for each new guest, so I question the cleanliness of the bed. There is no TV in the room, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had reliable wifi. Do expect to hear every single noise from the person in the next room and in the hallway, so bring earplugs if you sleep light. Walking to and from at night, I was harassed by prostitutes and sex shop owners, but it seemed relatively safe. And one problem is they have no elevator and I was on the sixth floor. In the end, I was only there to sleep, the price was great, and it was very close to all attractions, so it was worth putting up with the shortcomings for me.

Hotel très pratique pour dormir. C'est simple, correct. Je ne le conseille pas pour des familles ou des personnes âgées. Mais c'est très bien pour le tourisme ou le travail. L'hotel est en travaux.

I'm usually not one to leave reviews -but on this occasion felt it was very much deserved. For the price, I was expecting hostel quality (from past experiences)-with the exception of having to share with strangers. The room my friend and I were given, was very clean and the en suit, although extremely small was very well kept. The location is very central, around a 20 minute walk to the Louvre, I was able to get a real feel of the area, the local shops and bars, and better yet, avoided having to pay "tourist prices" for meals and drinks. For the future, I hope their prices remain reasonable, as this is what attracted my friend and I in the first instance -and it surpassed our (perhaps jaded) expectations. Staff were (for the most part) friendly, I'd definitely stay again.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my boyfriend. Appi is extremely easy to reach from the airport using the RER B and M4, and was very close to the Pompidou. The rooms (bedroom, separated restroom/WC and shower) are very small (can only fit the average sized person). Definitely worth the price and would definitely stay here again.

“Joke”

This would rather be a joke than a hotel anywhere else, but in central Paris you probably won't find anything decent for that price. So, I just will name few things to take into consideration: - located in red light district, - seven story building with no elevator (and staircase is very steep) - extremely small bathroom The only positive things are, that it is, indeed quite central (Notre Dame de Paris is 20 minutes walk away), and provides free internet (but don't forget to write down a password when you check in - as usual in France, reception is closed at night).

This hotel has a decent location off the beaten path of Paris. But overall, the quality is low and is only really good for sleeping.

L'essentiel, c'est à dire, une chambre propre, chauffée, et tranquille. Pour ce prix, tout est très convenable. Dans les mêmes prix qu'une auberge de jeunesse avec chambre collective, alors y'a rien à dire !
