“Huge rooms”

Huge rooms - over 30 feet long. Nice tranquil views. Service was good as was the restaurant. Every one was very helpful. There was always some confuson between in the restaurant it seemed for payment. Excellent breakfast. Beautiful jungle setting with hiking trails. Lots of birds. Everything is starting to age though. It was a long way from anywhere - shops, restaurants, airport, sights.

“Spacious room, beautiful views, but could be cleaner”

The room is spacious and pleasant, but cleanliness could be better, there was a dead roach on the bathroom floor (somewhat forgivable, since it is a very tropical climate). Air conditioning could be stronger, but OK. Elevators slow at times. Furniture is a bit old. Otherwise, everything was fine and staff was easy to deal with.

“Nice, but out of the way”

The resort was very nice overall but had some limitations. The restaurant was very limited, both in menu choices and service. There were inconsistancies in pricing and with what came with what. There weren't very many people staying at the resort and at times there were only five or six people in the restaurant and the service was still somewhat slow. The rooms are large and comfortable, however there was some construction going on that made getting in and out of the lobby and rooms a challenge. Phone call have to be made through the "front desk" and I was told were $.50/minute for local calls. Internet service is in the Business Center for $4.40/hour, while Internet cafes in town charge $.75 an hour. The grounds are large, but a little hard to get around due to the hillside terrain. If you want peace and quiet, it's a nice place, but if you're looking for something more lively, stay closer to town. Also the traffic getting there and out, can be very difficult almost any time of the day.

“The Avalon Hotel Review”

This hotel is very nice, with a water parks and nice pool. The only thing, is this hotel is not well located for shopping.

“enjoyed our stay”

Could not beat this hotel for the price. A little far from things but a beautiful view and a quiet location. If you want to get around hire a taxi. The drivers are very helpful and not too expensive

“Excelent installations away from the city”

15 Minutes away from the crowd of Panama city and on the same road to Colon, it is a nice-confortable hotel surrounded by nature. Excelent views from the balcony and funny with the acqua Park in its domains.

“Best if not interested in touring”

The hotel is located outside the city so to get to anything you need a taxi, and most taxi's will charge you $30+ to go anywhere. The hotel has a water park, but my fiancee and I didn't use it at all since it was kinda uncomfortable to be out in the sun for very long. The hotel service is amazing, and they provide pretty much whatever you need, but unfortunately since it is not really located by anything getting anywhere is annoying. Over all it was a nice stay but next time I play on staying somewhere closer to the attractions.

“Too far from Panama City”

For those looking to just vegetate and not looking for any nightlife, this is your place. In terms of cost, it is also a good deal, especially considering where the prices of hotels in Panama City have gone.....through the roof. However, the hotel is a good 20 minute (via interstate) from the city and about 45 minutes from the airport (without traffic).

“Make it right”

I did not stay at this Hotel. The Hotel Avalon Grand Panama is a top tear hotel. The rooms are great looking and relaxing from what I hear and from the pictures. Those comments came from locals. If you can work the logistics, this would be a good hotel to stay at. Also, I was refunded for the nights I did not stay. Good hotel and thanks Expieda

Hotel is nice enough but is so far from town if you need to do business in Panama City do not stay here. A few taxi drivers in PC refused to take me back to this Hotel !
