Friendly staff and excellent food at the restaurant. This is an older hotel that needs so upgrading of plumbing features. It was hard to get the right temperature in the shower. I did advise staff of the issue. Beware, this hotel is in Casco Viejo with narrow streets full of traffic most of the time. So that leads to traffic noise, horns honking, etc. Also, our room over looked the catholic church which stated ringing bells at 6am and continued throughout the day every 15 minutes.

Love this quaint historic hotel, lots of charm. It’s in the central of everything for the Casco Viejo district. Highly recommend.

Great property for visiting the old town. Only problem is that the plumbing can take a long time to deliver hot water. Also the staircases are not that safe to use as they do not have handrails that can easily be held onto.

This was the perfect place to stay in Casco Viejo. Central to everything. The hotel has amazing charm, professional service, many amenities. I would absolutely recommend staying here. Hopefully will be back in the future!

Very loud music just outside the property until 130AM. Loud church bell could be heard every 1/2 hr on the other side (630am-1030pm). If you want a good night’s sleep, I wouldn’t stay here.

Absolutely gorgeous historic hotel in the heart of Casco Viejo. The staff was incredibly warm, attentive and friendly. Very close to the best bars, restaurants and shopping. Would 10/10 recommend staying here.

Great location, great service and staff, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was fine, but a little disappointing and do not expect to sleep in if the room is by the church bell - it goes off every 15 minutes from too early when on vacation.

The staff at the desk was slow at check in. Another party had an issue and both employees devoted their attention to that while we waited.. We had a late lunch 2:30 and the it was very slow.. even for Panama. Perhaps mid afternoon is a minimal staff period..

The American Trade Hotel is such a beautiful property. We stayed in one of the Panoramic rooms on the top floor. Our room was on the front overlooking the courtyard and ocean so I would request that location when booking again. Some have said it's too loud but we didn't experience that - we welcomed hearing the church bells ringing and nightlife. Breakfast was included. It says it's continental but it's really a full breakfast with a few selections. The staff was always friendly, decorations were beautiful. We will definitely stay here again.

I never arrived in Panama because Copa airlines wouldn't allow us to board our flight for an issue that was their fault. The American Trade hotel refused to refund us for the night because it was passed the time of their cancelation policy. Needless to say I will not be staying at this hotel ever due to this service, even though I connect overnight in Panama very often.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever had the pleasure of staying in in my entire life, and I really don't just say that. I feel like I have pretty high expectations and American Trade blew them out of the water. The location was perfect and within walking distance of one of Latin America's best restaurants (Fonda Lo Que Hay) and the staff were all so nice and went out of our way to make us feel welcome. The hotel was spotless, the rooftop pool was incredible...it made my vacation to Panama so memorable. Definitely stay here if you have the chance to!

Nice hotel in the historic center, lots of things to see and do; restaurants, bars, shops, easy to get around by Uber or taxi. I only had one complaint, my bed sheets had a stain; I did not mention to the hotel because I only stay one night but for the price I wasn’t expecting it.

I've stayed at the American Trade Hotel twice this past year. The staff is always gracious, accommodating and warm. The rooms were equally terrific during both stays. A room overlooking Plaza Herrera adds to the wonderful guest experience. The hotel has a special nuance all of it's own.

We arrived early from the David airport around 10am and we were just going to drop off our bags and they not only held our bags without question but then also took the time to make sure we had our room early if one was available! (Which there was!)-just be aware during their peak season it may not happen we were just lucky in the off season! The staff is SUPER friendly! The door men were super awesome and were always happy to help us! There will be an umbrella for you to get to your car if it’s raining and always a smiling face! The housekeeping staff were amazing as well we felt so comfortable leaving our stuff in the room and every night they gave us turn down service with water and Panamanian Chocolate. It’s things like this that made my friend and I not want to leave. The hotel itself is BEAUTIFUL and very historic so I’d say if you want to splurge like we did definitely do it. We are so happy with our stay. Even when we were waiting for our Uber back to the airport a lovely lady at the bar offered to make us cappuccino while we waited on the rainy day and made mine vegan! She makes the recipes for all the drinks so I definitely recommend you go to the bar😉 I could go on forever about this hotel that made us feel like family, I’ve stayed a lot of places and the ones in Panama made me really question going back home! Love you guys!

This is a renovated hotel, originally built in 1917 and renovated in 2017. If your want a modern hotel, this is not for you. However, I really liked the charm of this place. Much of the original tile and woodwork remains. Floors are repurposed wood. Comfortable beds, quiet and spacious rooms, good air conditioning, great location, excellent food in their restaurant, and an extremely pleasant and accommodating staff. We stayed for seven nights and I would return without hesitation.
