Property Amenities
The Chesterfield, Palm Beach is a registered historical landmark and yet offers the sophisticated traveler every modern amenity and convenience. Built in 1926, the hotel is a member of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection and Small Luxury Hotels of the World and provides guests a quiet respite in luxurious surroundings with fine accommodations, wonderful food & beverage, and attentive personal service to make you feel at home. Blending into a lushly tropical residential neighborhood of luxury private homes, The Chesterfield exudes old-world charm with its Spanish-Moorish architectural style, wrought-iron railings, and terra-cotta roof tiles over a coral colored stucco exterior. Only dark green awnings and polished brass signs disclose that the mansion-like building is a hotel. Entry is through the intimate courtyard and into the warm lobby with its yellow walls and red carpet, sofa and chairs, where you are welcomed by smiling staff, identified by the signature red carnation worn on their lapels, who greet you by name and offer freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Crisp red apples and scrumptious jelly beans also perk up arriving guests, and complimentary Starbucks coffee awaits early risers in the lobby every morning. The Library, a little wood-paneled getaway just around the corner from the lobby, has a fireplace, English hunting oil paintings, green leather furnishings with proper pillows, and a pair of wingback chairs and features daily newspapers, magazines, books, and a computer with printer available to registered guests 24 hours a day. Across the marble hallway is Churchills Cigar Room, a comfy spot similarly furnished with a second computer, a television, and a walk-in humidor.
Room Amenities
Rooms
The Chesterfield offers 52 guest rooms including 8 different room types and 11 uniquely decorated suites. Most guest rooms are located on the second and third floors where hallways are carpeted in a leopard print with signature red carnations here and there, chair rails and crown molding lend character and charm, and elegant wall sconces and chandeliers light the way. Rooms are continually refurbished on a cyclical basis, with soft furnishings completely redone every 3 to 4 years or so. No room is exactly like another, although some Queen Superior and King Deluxe rooms are similar in décor. Many currently feature colors reminiscent of the tropical gardens and the ocean found nearby, with sea foam greens and bright and muted blues contrasted with clean whites, while others have leopard accents and “jungle-like” touches in pillow and drapery fabrics. While some of the standard guest rooms are smaller with regard to “footprint,” all rooms at The Chesterfield have high ceilings with crown molding, wall-mounted flat screen LCD television, two closets with wooden hangers, desk with chair, sitting chair, and marble bathroom with tub/shower and Gilchrist & Soames English bath amenities. Suites at The Chesterfield are all unique, with colors, furnishings, and art work individually designed. Our latest renovation included two Junior Executive Suites which were done in warm coral reds and creamy whites, and new furnishings which feature golden brass accents

“Very nice”
Everything was good with the hotel. Palm Beach is surprisingly quiet during summer and a lot of places were actually closed. Rooms were nice but a little small for the American standard, but we survived even with a baby crib in the corner.
“Gem of Palm Beach”
This hotel was beautiful inside and out, from its charming courtyard to luxurious linens, we will definately be back. The staff was very friendly and courteous; we especially loved the valet parking and evening turn-down service (with gourmet chocolates). It is walking distance to Worth Avenue and the beach, and stands in the midst of beautiful, historic Palm Beach. We would definately give this hotel an exceptional rating and would recommend it to our family and friends.
“Great Hotel”
One of the nicer small hotels. All staff was extremely accomodating. No request was too much for them. We asked about an upgrade and got upgraded to a suite at no extra chatge.
“Enjoyed our stay”
My husband and I stayed at The Chesterfield in Palm Beach over Mother's Day weekend. The hotel was beautiful and clean and DID NOT SMELL. A review I read after I had booked our room said the hotel was dirty and smelled, so I was a little nervous until we got there. But that was not the case; the room was small, but nicely decorated and clean. The location was great, two short blocks from Worth Avenue where we had a wonderful dinner at Bice. On Sunday morning we had breakfast in the courtyard of the Chesterfield and that was also lovely. We had a wonderful stay at The Chesterfield and will go back soon.
“I can't wait to go back”
Hotel is really clean, nice neighbourhood, really close to the beach. Lady at the front desk so nice, and helpful.I spend nice time and didn't want to go back. Restaurant has deliccious food, but not always good service...
“A quiet retreat in Palm Beach”
Very comfortable, quiet. Shaded pool. Attentive staff. Pleasant reading room. Convenient walk to beach and Worth Avenue. Very good restaurant with music several nights a week and weekends. One of best small hotels in South Florida, and affordable too.
“This hotel is a little jewel!”
This small hotel was a marvelous find. Everything about it was to our liking and we'd go back in a minute!
“Just wonderful! Small, intimate, comfortable but luxurious--Four Seasons without the volume”
Nested in a quiet residential area, close to Worth Avenue and everything else worthwhile in Palm Beach and West Palm. Parking Valets are personable and helpful -- usually address you by name. Night desk staff wonderful (the day staff could take some lessons from Parker). Room service as punctual as they promise; food delicious and beautifully presented.
“Our daughter planned her wedding to be at The Chesterfield”
We only knew the hotel was a boutique hotel, which can be unpredictable, but we were pleasantly surprised on all aspects. The rooms were impeccable -- we stayed in an Executive Suite and it was elegantly appointed and very comfortable. It included all the amenities. We ate in the hotel for breakfast and enjoyed that...as well as enjoyed the surprise fruit and snacks that often awaited the guests in the lobby. But the main reason we were there was for our daughter's wedding. The entire hotel staff was aware of all of the festivities, and made us feel as if we were the only guests there. They joined in on the fun and made all of our requests (and some of them were last minute), seem effortless. The Catering department was on top of their game for the reception, held in the apparently locally-famous Leopard Lounge. It is always a significant sign when the Catering Manager is in the room for the entire event, keeping his eye on all activities, ready to jump into action if needed, which was rarely needed. The event flowed smoothly, even though the ceremony and pictures ran a little late at the church....but they accommodated all of our needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay -- our daughter's wedding was extremely memorable and special as a result -- and we would recommend this hotel to friends and family when traveling to Palm Beach.
“Highly Recommend This Hotel”
While the hotel is small, the service is top notch. The staff was very helpful, at every level, even giving me an umbrella to use for a rainy night out. The rooms were small, but clean and comfortable. While I did not eat at the restaurant, I found the nightly entertainment in the bar to be very enjoyable. I will be traveling to West Palm again in January and have already booked a room at this hotel.
