"un hôtel correct et très pratique"
Le cadre est fonctionnel et les prestations "standard". Mais il permet de visiter Palerme à pied ( il est situé à 10 ' du centre historique) tout en laissant la voiture au parking. Il est très facile d'accès en voiture depuis la "rocade"

"Highly recommended."
The staff were absolutely excellent, extremely polite and impeccably dressed. They were on hand to advise where to go and how to get there, always with a smile. The room we had was 301 and it was not only spotless but very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Hidden behind the tall dark wood cabinets was a mini kitchen and, at the side, a microwave which could be used for self catering. There's a lovely couch to relax on if staying in with a dining table and chairs. The furnishings and décor was lovely, bed was excellent and you wake to an ample breakfast. One restaurant I would recommend is Casa del Brodo which was absolutely fantastic just around the corner but book in advance if possible as it gets busy, especially at weekends. All in all, fantastic.

Palazzo Pantaleo

Via Ruggero Settimo 74/h, Palermo - Map

"Palazzo Pantaleo"
Palazzo Pantaleo has my highest praise. It's a bed and breakfast hotel - only six rooms. It is owned and operated by Giuseppe Scaccianoce, who was born and raised along with his 5 siblings in what he refers to as his "house." The B&B is perfectly located - right in the historic center of the city, and on all the major bus lines. It is very peaceful, as it's set back a block from the street noise. I arrived early, and the regular rooms had not yet been cleaned. So Giuseppe gave me a suite that was located a floor above the level where the six rooms are situated. I gained access by this narrow, body-width, winding staircase. I had a living room (with flat-screen TV), kitchen, separate bathroom, and a huge bedroom (with another flat-screen TV). And then there was another narrow, body-width staircase that took me to my own private terrazza on the rooftop. Up there I was able to watch the starlings (called rondini here) race around the courtyard; how they avoided colliding with the walls, or me, is a mystery. Giuseppe personally prepares and lovingly oversees the complimentary morning breakfast array of meats, cheeses, bread, pastries, fruits, and juices. He is also a wealth of information when it comes to what to see in Palermo and how to see it. It's like having your own personal tour guide. Giuseppe is genuinely interested in insuring that your stay at his establishment is a pleasant one. He is a charming gentleman, and I will always treasure having met him.

"Very central and quick route to the beaches!"
I really liked this hotel. Its true that some walls can do with a lick of paint, but its such a minor detail.. the hotel is beautiful.. the staff tend to be bilingual.. based on those we spoke to.. the dinning room (where we had breakfast: croisants or cooked or fruit, lots of choice here) is beautifully decorated.. the aircon was good but after such warm weather for 2 weeks you get used to the heat anyway.. it seems to be a very high profile hotel as one day we got back and there were press taking pics, and police on guard at the entrance..

"5 days in Sicily"
I went to Sicily to visit Palermo, Catania, Corleone and climb up to the Etna. I wanted to book only one hotel room in Palermo. Hotel Cortese is in the downtown and you can get a feeling about "real" Palermo. A family runs a hotel and they are very very friendly even if they do not speak English. But do not worrie won't be any language problem :) I rented a car to go away after I explored Palermo. They gave me a garage which was very cheap. But do not rent big car, the big car is a suicide in Palermo :) All in all I enjoyed very much the stay at Hotel Cortese. Thank you very much for the staff.
