Disappointing
We were disappointed with our stay, sadly. The sheets did not cover the matress, the room was 'standard' although advertised as a 'superior' room. At breakfast the coffee machine malfunctioned and the person on duty said 'its a new machine, did you insert the capsule correctly?' She also said she would have to contact the manager without any offer of hot drinks to enjoy with our breakfast. We were left feeling like it was our fault that the machine didn't work. On check-out no-one asked about our stay which meant we were bit given ay opportunity to give face to face feedback.

Great place for a short stay, friendly efficient staff, good menu in the restaurant and very reasonable prices. Handy for exploring the surrounding countryside and visiting places like Henley and Marlow on the Thames.

Lovely country inn, a real gem.
We had a lovely 2 night stay here, really nice room with tea coffee & biscuits, very spacious bathroom with good storage space. It’s a great olde worlde pub with lots of atmosphere & a nice outdoor seating area too & only 10 minutes drive from Henley on Thames. The food was very good, home cooked with a great choice, breakfast was excellent, hot & tasty, couldn’t fault it at all. The staff were all very friendly & welcoming, always smiling. We would like to say thank you to Rachel for her great hospitality and a very special thank you to Jeremiah who from checking us in when we arrived couldn’t do enough to help & advise us. He really went above & beyond. Overall a very enjoyable stay, would highly recommend staying here.

Pleasant stay, delicious breakfast
We were doing some agricultural work in Henley and needed somewhere functional to stay for one night over the weekend. There was plenty of parking which is a big tick for us, especially as it felt it was safe enough to leave a lot of gardening kit in one of our cars overnight. The pub itself has been done up very well, tastefully with character, and with a nice outside seating area at the back, great for groups of friends. It was a very hot night so we had to have all our windows open to get air through, but the pub is just off a main through road so we could hear the traffic in the morning. The room itself was nice but we had low eaves in ours which we were advised about at reception on arrival. We had a bath, no shower, which suited us, but the pipework is a bit wobbly, and there was nowhere to put the soap as it was a roll top bathtub. Small things but… However, it was all very clean and our bed was comfortable. Our door lock was fiddly to open from outside. Breakfast was delicious, great full English and perfect poached eggs. The staff were helpful and friendly. Four stars from us because of the traffic and the eaves.

Lovely staff, very helpful. Nice room, walkable to a petrol station shop, easy to park, good food, warm room with working radiators and a fan if too warm. Only thing was the bath had a lot of yellow scale on the inside base by the plug to the point of it being off putting to use. There was however a shower so not a real problem. Maybe ithe bath needs replacing now, otherwise, a lovely stay.

Great stopover for Reading Festival
We stayed for 2 nights around a day spent at Reading Festival, just 10 miles away. The rooms are mainly external to the hotel which was good for coming back after midnight from Reading. The bar food and drink was great and we enjoyed excellent breakfasts. We would certainly use the White Hart again

Staff were very friendly and accomodating for our stay, even allowing us to check in slightly earlier than normal as we had a wedding to get to. Room was very clean and had everything we could have needed. Would recommend!

Even though our stay was short we couldn’t be more pleased that we chose to stay with you! From start to finish you guys were both so welcoming even though we arrived early, you couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating! Everything was perfect and we will definitely be returning. We can only give 2* rating for our stay. 1 for location and 1 for the breakfast. Due to the pub / hotel being located on a busy main road and the room we stayed in being positioned at the front, the noise of the road was horrendous!! The room was stifling as the room we had was south facing and because the blinds hadn’t been pulled sleeping in that heat was horrendous. Unfortunately we will not be going back. The only positive was that it was located very close to Henley.

Liked the layout, food and general staff service/friendliness. A small matter but kept needed to ask for things which should have been available, eg only one cup in double room. Only decaf coffee sachets, no spoons at breakfast. Cleaners could have started hoovering later after 10 and all guests had breakfast. Some small maintenance work in room. Windows. Noisy with traffic from about 7am. Food and service otherwise excellent.

Lovely country pub/hotel a short distance from Henley. Really nice appearance, inside and out, with friendly, efficient staff. Our room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. Although we didn't eat there in the evening, the restaurant was clearly popular with locals and visitors alike. Breakfast in the morning was lovely. Checking in and out was quick and easy.

We booked a double room for a sunday night (bank hol Monday) less than a week in advance. The room was far nicer than expected for the price, pretry bath in the room, fireplace, huge cupboards, lovely clean bathroom with shower, selection of teas and biscuits in the room. Staff were all very friedy and helpful. There was easy parking and the food was great in the restaurant. We'd taken part in an obstacle course race a few miles away in Henley and were really pleased we found this place to stay after. Would definitely recommend!

Half the bulbs gone so putting make-up on in the dark. No makeup mirror. No shaving mirror. No heating so cold. No power point for hairdryer only by the bed with no mirror. Bulb gone in shower so again washing in the dark. Sat down to eat at 7.30pm and had finished by 8.10pm, starters and main! Dinner was poor. Husband had pork belly which had no crackling and luke warm. I had ribs which were tough with horrible oven chips. I wouldnt recommend or go back.
