Highly recommended
We were made very welcome, our room was lovely and warm (important as it was very cold and frosty), lovely and clean. Bathroom with a bath, but no shower. Large, comfortable bed. Very cosy. Breakfast was great and kept us going on our 10 mile walk that day. We had a lovely evening meal in the pub, which was well cooked and presented. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nice friendly stay while visiting Chiltern Winery
This is a great place to view for a visit Chiltern Winery. Especially if walking - and you can do the hill as all uphill there and all downhill back. Service was so welcoming and food was excellent. One of the best English breakfasts at a hotel ever for me - going on quality. Room was.comfortable and as you would expect from a village pub. Convenient back door so didnt have to walk through pub with bags. Also the host was extremely responsive to questions before the stay.

Out in the country side. Not a single bedroom entrance had a horizontal bead of wood at the top of it! Very quirky!

A characterful and charming pub with comfortable rooms and a warm welcome. The evening meal was delicious all round with a great choice of local and freshly prepared food.

Little hidden treasure
Absolutely beautiful little place and area. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, couldn't do enough for you. Very clean, tidy Inn with a beautiful fireplace. The food was amazing! Absolutely delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again! Very dog friendly. Superb!

This quaint & cosy pub is in a beautiful position in the Chiltern Valley. The staff were very friendly & helpful & we enjoyed our 2 night stay.

Really nice
With only three bedrooms and off the beaten track, it’s a quiet, intimate place to stay. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Best English breakfast I’ve had in a long while.

Such a lovely friendly pub. When we arrived we were welcomed by the pub dog, and a very friendly barmaid. We were at a wine tasting tour in chiltern and the staff helped us with directions. The evening meal was of high standard and service. We couldn’t fault it. As was the room and breakfast. I would highly recommend staying here. We even managed a 4 mile walk the next day to see the beautiful surroundings a d wildlife.

WiFi was patchy as was TV reception in Room 1. However we don’t go away to watch TV or be on-line in our hotel room. So not a big issue for us. The staff were welcoming, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was good too.

Great birthday weekend
Very clean, friendly pub, comfortable room. Grest selection of beers, excellent food in restaurant. Lovely surroundings, peaceful and quiet. No signal and limited wifi, so great if you want to get away from it all!

Great pub. Wonderful food. Staff couldn't do enough for us (including putting our wet walking shoes in the drying cupboard overnight). There was a dripping tap in our room which kept us awake until we put tissue ovrt the plug hole. Otherwise can't fault the place.

There was a very warm welcome. We had a nice meal there in the evening with excellent beer. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding with choices ranging from fresh fruit and yoghurt to a full traditional all to an exceptionally good standard.

Great Character & Friendliness
A great stay with lovely people. Hoping the summer brings better fortune for the owners, Jim & Noelle than the last 18 months. The food is amazing, the breakfast & the restaurant menu. The phone signal is non-existent but thank goodness for wifi & whatsapp. A centrally located character pub, hoping they continue for many more years. We could easily return, just loved our visit.
