Absolutely luxurious stay! They thought of everything with no detail left unchecked including doggie treats, bowls, doggie bed and blanket as well as complimentary Nespresso coffee machine with coffee pods. The absolute best! And the bed? Best sleep ever!😌 Soft luxurious cotton and duvet upon duvet piled on top, felt like sleeping on clouds☺️ Room was warm, cosy, modern with a luxurious vintage theme, sparkling clean with all the expected amenities including smart TV. Large clean Bathroom room with lots of luxury towels and spa quality toiletries 🤩😍 I really could go on...I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this is BY FAR the absolute best and worth every single penny! Oh and the staff are so lovely 🤗 and accomodating to your needs. Perfect hotel and perfect stay! I can't bloody wait to go back there again 🙌

Lovely festive stay - characterful and comfy
Stayed here to visit Blenheim Palace's Christmas events. The hotel was much more than just a place to stay - it was beautifully decorated for Christmas, characterful and comfortable. We enjoyed spending time chatting in the bar - roaring fire, comfy chairs etc - and the food was lovely. Very easy flat walk to Blenheim - we will visit again to do more of the Cotswolds.

Lovely hotel - ideal location for Blenheim Palace
Lovely hotel, great cottage style room. Very spacious and comfortable. Good breakfast freshly cooked - found it odd that not offered toast with our full English - first time I've known that in a hotel of this standard

Even though I stayed in a basic double room, the room was very clean, comfortable, quiet and totally darkness when closed the curtain!! I love this place.

Perfect way to end the day
After a visit to Blenheim Palace we stayed one night at this lovely hotel in Woodstock. Beautiful setting and wonderful service. Would definitely recommend.

Great hotel at a good price.
The experience was made extra special by the lovely petite check in clerk who went out of her way to get things done, like extra milk in the room, etc. Its a historic hotel with large original stairs, so folks be aware if you have large suitcases. But it is perfectly placed in the centre of Woodstock with easy access to Blenheim.

Wonderful settling and environment to stay in. Staff very helpful and polite, mainly very young, some clearly lacking experience. Underwhelming was the standard of food. Menu not to the same level as you would expect from this hotel and the chain. Certainly not the level of ability in the catering of this establishment that you would expect to experience.

Points for history and ambience!
Gislene at the reception was brilliant. Patient whilst we went through list of room options(luckily no one was behind me). Got me the best suite in the hotel. I could’ve kissed her then and there had it not been for the silly laws and social awareness against it. :) The dude at the bar( manager) was weird and that’s me saying that but that didn’t dampen the spirits so all good. The hosts at breakfast were super and so was the breakfast. Overall a nice stay with good vibes in this picturesque town!

A filthy rundown shambles
Awful. Booked a four poster suite, got something completely different, filthy and needed a full renovation. Had to wait 15 minutes for a receptionist to show up, and this is after walking into the restaurant to try and get someone’s attention in there. This is 2 star hotel at best. The cooked breakfast was good, but I had to remind them to bring the toast, which by the time it arrived I had finished and was ready to leave. The place is in general a shambles, and for this I blame the management.

Disappointing Room tired interiors
We were given a very tired and unrenovated room in the courtyard. There were cracks on wall and ceiling, cobwebs on the ceiling and the bathroom was not well maintained. The bath would not drain and just filed up with water when showering. We went to restaurant for dinner and was not made to feel welcome. The restaurant was pretty much empty at 8:15pm but we were told it was full and turned away. Just seemed odd with no reserve signs on tables and empty restaurant. On check out I explained issues with room to receptionist. She just agreed with me that bedroom was not in a good condition and then blamed agency staff. Seemed an odd response. I have been wanting to stay at the Bear for last 25 years after passing it often as a child. I was very disappointed when I finally visited. Not the nice high end hotel I was expecting.

Very convenient for visiting Blenheim Palace Flower Show as I was an Exhibitor with a friend. The restaurant staff were wonderful and the food was good. We didn't like the treatment we got from the lady receptionist. We could not find the car park and I asked for her help by phone. She said she couldn't understand where we were in the car as she didn't drive though I told her clearly the shops we were passing. At one point she said she was too busy to keep talking to me. We parked in the road outside the hotel. We never found the car park, apparently down a narrow side street. We would have had to pay £10 to park there!

Great location and very nice for age of establishment. We were in courtyard so a little noisy early in the morning with workers getting started and guests leaving but overall a good spot.
