“Fun getaway for the weekend (family with one child)”

We have a 3 year old and wanted to get away for the weekend. We were looking for a hotel/waterpark less than 2 hours away from us. Of the ones we looked at, this was the most economical and was just about 2 hours away from us. Overall, we had a good and relaxing time. The waterpark was fun, but being told there would be swim towels at the waterpark, we left our hotel towels in the room and headed down there. There were zero towels available. After repeated requests over the course of almost 2 hours for towels, we kept being told they were in the dryer and would be brought out soon. They never came. The towel issue would be my only complaint. Otherwise we had a good and relaxing time and over the weekend enjoyed a quick trip to Cabela's next door, and dinner at Famous Dave's (across the street), and good Caribou coffee in the morning (across the street as well) - my favorite!

“Okay -”

Hotel was being remodeled so it was not at its best. Purchased rooms on Expedia but when we arrived they tried to charge us again for the room, it took almost a full day to get that squared away, no ice machines available on the floor; had to get ice from the bar. Fresh cookies at check in, they were awesome!

“What happened Holiday Inn?”

Hotel is underconstruction...out dated and dirty. The bed and bedding were the only thing that appeared new. There was no mention that the hotel was under construction until I got there, what's up with that. Also the hallways were extremely dark much like a haunted hotel.

“Stay at your own risk . . .”

Even if EVERYTHING else was splended, a crummy bed ruins the entire stay. My husband and I slept on a king sized bed, and we constantly rolled to the middle of the bed . . . and no, we're not overweight. If you're sleeping in a single bed, your stay might be ok, but I just wanted to share our experience.
