Renovating when I was there
Renovations going on when i was there so do understand some things not up to par. Hope they do something with showers as water pressure was awful and during shower setting went to scalding a without notice. Ice machine was not easilyaccessible. Otherwise stay was as anticipated

Good hotel for the price and the weekend.
Good room for the weekend. I would not want to spend a week there. We heard that the hotel had been sold, is no longer family-owned, and will be redone as apartments. all, it was a pleasant stay and very economical. Do I recommend yes for as long as it's open and if you are not picky?

Thanks for the review. Yes, the motel has been sold. One of the buildings will be converted to long term rentals due to the housing/rental issues in our area. The 2 buildings on the Oceanside of the Beach Road will remain a motel. We are looking forward all of our future upgrades! Exciting things are happening!

Hot water for dayz! Water pressure was fantastic in shower. Shower head was actually above my head we are 6ft tall family. Kitchen has full size fridge and freezer. Did not use the oven, stove worked great. Only complaint was the loud neighbors at night. But you can hear EVERYTHING through the walls so nothing really can be done about that. Office was open and staffed daily. We'd were able to get extra towels and toilet paper when needed. Walking distance to anything you need. Fantastic location.

Friendly and accessible to attractions
I love staying here. They are always super friendly and helpful. This is not a big ritzy hotel but its clean, easy to get in and comfortable and very close to the beach and Janettes Pier. I walked back and forth happily all week.

I prefer staying at 'Mom & Pop' motels but sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. This motel was a loss. It desperately needs upgrading. The carpet was worn out, the mattresses sagged, the bed sheets and cover were old and worn. The AC never adequately cooled the room and the fan kept the curtain on the window above blowing 3 feet into the air. The door locks were hard to open and the deadbolt popped out every time the door opened and was nearly impossible to get back in so the door could be closed. On the positive side, the location is great and parking was good. I just think the owners are milking everything they can get out of this motel without putting much into it.

I am so sorry your stay with us was less than you had expected. I do wish you had let us know while you were here. We could have moved you to another room. I will have our maintenance guy check that door lock and the AC. I will also let the house keepers know about the bedding and make sure they inspect it better. Our linens are locally sourced from a linen rental company. Again I am sorry for the problems. I do hope you return to the Outer Banks again soon! Have a great day

For an older motel it was adequate. Was planning a short trip with family members. I was told there wasn't much around that area, so I didn't expect much. When I got there, I found out there were several other more modern places we could have stayed. I asked for extra washcloths and towels at check in. I was given plenty of towels but no washcloths. There was no one at the front desk until later in the morning at checkout. We needed washcloths and had to do without. Other motels along the beaches in NC and SC seem to be trying to do without front desk attendants. Makes it very hard to check in and check out. I think people should be informed at booking if there is not going to be housekeeping, maintenance, or front desk personnel and what times they will be available.

I am so sorry no one was at the office when you needed assistance. As a norm our office is staffed from 9am until 900pm. Occasionally the office staff does have to run out to assist guest. And in the off season we sometimes close the office an hour earlier. As for housekeeping our housekeeping staff is usually onsite from 9am until 3pm daily and we keep supplies in our office. We have a Maintenance Man on site 24 hours. His name and number is listed on the office door incase of after hours issues. Absolutely loved our stay, the only small problem was the walls are super thin it seems, so was able to hear everything going on in the next room over, but we would definitely go back.

For the cost Not So Bad.
A slightly older hotel that could use some minor renovations. But perfect for the cost and convenient distance to the beach. Room had a slight musty smell. But that’s common for carpets near the ocean. Bring some Febreeze and it’s good to go

Outer banks lighthouse fun
We arrived to an easy check in with a very friendly receptionist. We stayed for 3 days and the only problem we had was the door key and lock was trick at times . Every thing was clean . It is an older motel so a few things could be improved but it’s not the Hilton .we were content and safe during our trip.

1970's Retro motel room, nothing fancy but functional. Felt safe was clean and convenient to the area for walking. Owens Restaurant is the best kept secret. A bit pricy, but the food is 5 star perfect.

The customer service is amazing. Very friendly. Units are dated everything in working condition and clean which are the comforts you get for the price. There is a strong musty smell, probably from the carpet. Some caulk, paint and new floors would do this place a complete makeover. For last minute booking and the price it was decent. We probbaly wont be coming back though

I stayed in the cheapest rooms (behind the restaurant) and while they were clean there were stains on the mattress and carpet. Our wall also lost power, so none of outlets worked and therefore the ac didn’t work either. Staff was friendly and worked it out quickly though! These are definitely economy rooms so don’t expect anything fancy, but overall it worked out for me!

Filthy room. Outdated. 19 in old tv on ledge low enough it posed a danger to my 20 month granddaughter that could reach it and pull it over. She tried crawling on the floor and had bandaids stuck to her that weren’t from us. You are slammed with cigarette smoke going in and out of room. There were urine stains on the toilet seat before we even used the bathroom. The mattresses moved every time you sat on the bed so you were constantly trying to push the mattresses back. It was awful. Stayed one night and left.

Ladie behind the desk was super nice but we stayed for 3 night and the towels were not changed out. Had to go ask for fresh towels. The guy mowing the grass, sand blasted our vehicle. The was dirt and grass all over it and inside the vehicle where we had the windows cracked.

And regarding the towels, due to staffing issue we are not able to service rooms on shorter stay unless the guest request. I am sorry if you were not informed of that. We normally let the guest know they can stop by or call the office for extra towels coffee etc.. Again I am so sorry your stay was less than you had anticipated.

Bathrooms were absolutely too small. I’m 5’2” and my feet was clear to the end of bed with toes hanging over. Killed a lot of spiders that came out at night while sleeping. 5 day stay and not once were we brought fresh towels. Checking in and out, super friendly and easy to talk to

Motel was very out dated and needs a serious refurbishment. A/C was a window unit, which was noisy. There was no house keeping service to refresh towels etc. No electric socket in the bathroom. Front door has issues opening and closing with the old lock. Inside door chain was rusty. And a Cockroach was found in the bathroom.

We loved the vintage 50's style & white wicker furniture. Motel location is excellent, there's plenty of parking, and the window AC worked great. Valorie & Jimmy were super helpful when we had an issue with the door lock. The negatives were that we never could get internet access (only an "internet unavailable" message), there was no electrical outlet in the bathroom, and there was visible mold on the shower curtain.

Another stay here and was the same as last. 😁 Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Location is great and having beach front is even better. Hotel room over all was decent, roomy and clean just out dated that’s all, we’ll besides the bathroom, it seems to have been updated since our last stay I believe.
