“Always Clean & Comfortable Stay”
I love staying at this hotel. Staff is always very nice. Breakfast is simple, but does the trick. Very Clean & New looking rooms. Big Open Rooms. I have stayed here every time I have visited Ottumwa. And will continue to stay here each and every time. 5 to 10 minutes from Downtown, Walmart, Target and Grocery Stores. Indian Hills a hop, skip and jump away. Many Food places very close as well. And best of all, its a great value.
“Will return.”
Have stayed here before and was satisfied enough to return. Until this trip our room was always on the second floor. However this time we were on the first floor and we could hear walking around, plumbing, etc. from upstairs. Will definitely request upstairs room next time.
“Very helpful staff”
The only complaint I have is that we were given a room on the second floor exactly between the two stairs. I have knee problems and use HCP parking. I would have liked to be closer to the exit on the first floor. I did not ask to be moved.
“Relaxing stay in Ottumwa!!!”
Big Comfortable Room, Continental Simple Breakfast, Clean & Nicely Decorated Rooms, and pleasant staff. 4 Stars!!!
“Standard cheap hotel”
Continental breakfast was pretty slim. No towels in pool area. Neighborhood a bit sketchy. Pillows not at all comfortable. In room fridge was nice to have.
“Barely adequate accomodations, poor service.”
We didn't expect deluxe accommodations, but what we discovered was barely adequate. The room was too warm, the bed barely comfortable enough to sleep in and the lobby reeked of curry (not just a faint essence, but overwhelmingly so). While admittedly not rude, the staff was never what I would call friendly or welcoming. I honestly felt they were rather indifferent to our presence. I requested extra towels and got one extra one day during a week-long stay and that one was handed to me when I made the request and only after I got a used towel and turned it in to them. Two days before we left, I reported that the air conditioner had stopped cooling (80+ degree heat, high humidity). When we left, it still wasn't working. When I reported this at check out, the woman at the desk tried to lay the responsibility back on me by saying I should have told her it still wasn't working. Really? Telling you once isn't enough? Especially since she wasn't there when we returned to the hotel and found it hadn't been fixed. I did tell the man at the desk at that time. He had no clue it had been reported broken and seemed befuddled as to what to do about it. He did give me the desk fan when I asked for one, but did not offer to move us to a cooler room.
“Moldy smell”
This is the 2nd time I stayed here, the last beign a couple of years ago and from the moment you walk in you smell mold - the rooms don't smell, but the lobby and hallways do. Also, very much just a continental breakfast
