“Wouldn't hesitate to go back”
Had the room with the king bed, made it a bit tight but comfortable. Room and building were well maintained and clean. Staff were helpful and polite. Excellent location in downtown Ottawa. What more could you ask for?
“Novotel Ottawa-great for downtown sights & shopping”
Room was ready when we arrived, clean & comfortable & with a fairly decent view.Bed was very comfortable & bathroom/shower was nice and modern. Hotel is right near shops & Byward market area, and a short walk from major buildings of interest. We couldn't have been better situated. It was quite a maze to get to the pool & excersise area located on the 5th floor but not too bad when you get there! Don't remove anything from the bar fridge if you don't intend buying, it registers it somehow & you could be charged when checking out. All in all a good decent place to stay for a resonable price, I'm sure we will be back another time.
“Not bad..”
Wasnt what i expected since it was in downtown Ottawa. Service couldve been better. Front desk not very helpful and not many amenities available.
“Good value”
Good value, parking is reasonable and free wi-fi was great. The location is very convenient. I would consider this downtown hotel again. We frequent Ottawa regularly.
“See you again soon!”
Perfect location, great service. Parking was a hassle - too expensive and inadequate spaces. Everything else was awesome!
“Cosy comforts”
The room was outside of the ice machine. It did not have a door around it and made noise about every 3 hours . Loud enough to wake me at 3 and 5 in the morning. I had to use ear plugs. The room with a king sized bed was very small which was reasonable considering the price and seemed cosy. However, as each night passed it was feeling smaller and smaller.
“Modern, Clean, and Convenient”
This was my second stay in a year - the hotel is modern, bright, clean, comfortable and very affordable.
“What happened?”
the location, the front desk excellent. But the one thing that makes a hotel? The beds. Lousy sleep. Too bad, in the past it was top notch. For the money I paid, lots of other choices.
“Nice, modern hotel”
I stayed at the Novotel for business and it was fine for that purpose. I was surprised by how small the room was, but since I was mostly attending meetings it wasn't a big deal. I chose the hotel for the gym and pool facilities, but unfortunately I was unable to use them. Front desk staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The housekeeper seemed very anxious to get her cleaning done and interrupted me a few times when I was trying to get work done, but I think this may have been a communication problem (language). Since I visited a friend at another hotel closeby, I would probably choose that hotel over this one, but the Novotel is is a definitely adequate and the location can't be beat.
“Great Location, Great Price”
This was a nice quiet, clean hotel that was steps away from Byward Market. Its located right across the street from the mall and just down the street from Parliament Hill so the car stayed in the garage the entire trip. The garage parking wasn't clearly marked but we found our way to hotel access eventually (it is a public parking garage, with access to hotel). They stated there was a restaurant but not sure where in the hotel...it didn't matter because there were so many restaurants steps away! The bathroom was super clean and had a big shower...we would definitely stay again.
