“Ottawa's Classic Hotel ... a good experience”

We come to Ottawa at least once a year for business and for pleasure, as we love to see the historic sights that Ottawa offers. One of them is the Lord Elgin Hotel, named after one of Canada's Governors General. Lord Elgin was very influential in starting to make Canada into the democracy that it is today. The Lord Elgin Hotel continues the heritage of its namesake, by providing for its residents a classy experience for all. It is not over the top in price or amenities, but it does offer good clean accommodation, at good prices, and with very accommodating staff members who always want those folks staying at the hotel to feel comfortable and well looked after. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We'll be back next year for sure.

“Hope to stay there next time I am in Ottawa!”

I was pleased all around with my stay at the Lord Elgin. The staff was more than accomodating, going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, even making room for an extra night's stay, since we were enjoying ourselves we decided to extend our visit. I cannot think of a single complaint.

“nice place, but few little things could have been better”

we were very happy with the outside of building, lobby's, and other common areas. the room itself was comparable to any roadside hotel and only comes with 25" ctr t.v, while most places upgraded to lcd some time ago. when my wife asked where we were to park, staff replied that it was valet parking, but did not mention that it was $23 per day, when right outside lot parking is $15 per day (no parking included). local calls are $1 each as well, which seems odd as every other hotel i have been to has free local calls. there were a few places throughout building where repairs to trim was done, but not painted, no big deal, but in a pretty fancy hotel we would have not expected bare plaster. overall it was a good value. the staff were friendly, place was clean, and price for room was fair. i would recommend this place to others, but just beware hidden charges.

“"Character hotel close to all of Ottawa's main attractions"”

The hotel is a lovely character building within walking distance of most of Ottawa's main attractions including Parliament. The business centre offers free internet, the pool and workout area are wonderful. The restaurant offers good food and good service. There is lots of shopping and restaurants close by.

“Great hotel!”

The room was clean and service was great. One down side for business travellers is that the business centre was small (only had two computers), and there is no wireless Internet in the rooms.

Very clean and comfortable room. Check in was very friendly and informative about what to do while in Ottawa. Service was excellent. Starbucks in lobby.

We like the location of the hotel. The room is comfortable and very clean. I traveled with my family and we practically walked everywhere. It is very close to the Byward market where the pubs and restaurants are. It is very close to the Parliament building and other museums. Highly recommended.
