hotel close to museum but nothing else!

Posted 19-Mar-2015
Pros: Most of the staff was friendly. Across from the Museum of Canadian History.
Cons: The beds need to be changed. They squeaked and the blankets sounded like they were made out of plastic.Provide a fridgeµwave for your patrons.
Location: The Museum of Canadian History and in the summer you could walk across the bridge to the Parliament Buildings. Would never try that in the winter!
The staff were very nice except for the morning we checked out. The female clerk on duty was a bit miserable and not at all friendly like all the other staff. The hotel is situated right across the street from the Museum of Canadian History which was great. But there were no other restaurants in the area. If you are on a business trip it would work out fine to just eat at the restaurant at the hotel if your company would pick up the tab. If your paying for any meal yourself be aware! You could buy two boxes of cheerios for what they charged you for a bowl. Way overpriced and too steep for a family! Double beds only and squeaky too. The room was very small. We felt rather cramped with only a desk and no table, no refrigerator and no microwave. We stayed 3 nights and the hotel offered a "green" stay which means they won't come in and make your beds but will provide you with clean towels if you need them. We signed up at check in for this program but upon leaving the clerk said we didn't and withheld our SGP points. I felt a little ripped of after having my kids clean up the room and make beds before we left the hotel each day. We'll be back to Ottawa and Gatineau but we won't be staying at this hotel again.

Close to Winterlude activities.

Pros: Location
Great location, but room was a bit small. Nice pool and they have a lifeguard on duty. Nice to have underground parking in the winter.

Nice place

Posted 10-Feb-2015
Pros: Good restaurant
Cons: Control of kids running up and down the elevators. TV stations are to bare minimum.
Location: Close to the museum of history
I was staying on the 8th floor. This floor is more restricted and thus more relaxing. I just wish that there are no kids on the 8th and 9th floor because of the restriction. Last day there was a family on this floor and kids were running down the hall several times to get some ice. The ice machine was next to my room.

Very comfortable hotel in Gatineau

Posted 8-Feb-2015
Pros: Very comfortable and large room with a nice view. Very good restaurant.
Cons: More service at the restaurant in the morning.
Location: Great location, right in front of the history museum and near the parliament and the conference centre.
I stayed at this hotel for three nights to attend a conference. The room was big and very comfortable with a nice view of the parliament. The restaurant was great, but was sometimes a little bit crowded in the morning. There was an indoor passage to the conference centre, which was very practical.

Great hotel at a great price near downtown Ottawa

Posted 6-Jan-2015
This was my third stay at this convenient, good quality and affordable hotel in Hull, just across the river from Ottawa. Professional and attentive staff, neat/clean and well furnished room; and this time I tried out the restaurant buffet for breakfast, which included a good variety and tasty food. Convenient surface parking just outside the front door. I will return during future visits to the region

Great room overlooking the Canadian History Museum

I didn't stay there, as I booked the room for my mother, but she enjoyed it very much. Staff was nice, really quiet room, nice decor... Better than the Best Western close by.

Four Points By Sheraton Gatineau-Ottawa

Posted 4-Jan-2015

Pleasant Stay

A very positive experience. Staff courteous and friendly. Building comfortable. Not many opportunities for meals close to the hotel. Exercise room closed. But that's a small thing.
