“Economical Accomodations are Just Okay”
The hotel is well situated in downtown Ottawa with many restaurants available. My room was clean but run down. The taps dripped. My room needs a good coat of paint and some maintenance. It is too bad because the hotel has potential. The staff are good but the hotel itself lacked the warmth and comfort of a well maintained place. I cannot recommend this place as it is too run down. I wish that I could give it a higher rating as the staff deserves better.
“Don't pick this one - you wil be disappointed!”
There was no place to park to check in, there was no parking - we used an putdoor, unattended municipal one across the street for $20. The lighting was so poor in the room that we had to sit under one lamp to read. The other lamp was very dim and the third light was in the hallway of the room up high. If you wanted to plug in your curling iron, you had to stand on the flush to reach the outlet. It was a tiny bathroom yet there were four closets - one the fulllenght of the room. The advertised WIFI was so slow we gave up on it, The noise of the staff in the halls started just after 7am and was at fever pitch until we left at 9:30am. They yelled from one room to the other, which is fine if you were up and gone by then. The room was extremely warm, even with the thermostat turned off. We were able to open a deck door for cooler air. The deck was piled with a bunch of summer chairs, upside down and i would guess, just thrown there for the winter. The ONE redeeming factor was that you could walk to downtown easily. I would never stay here again and I can never recommend to anyone else. We are currently staying at the Delta Chelsea in Toronto for a lot less money and it is 100% better than the Embassy - you can't compare the two!!
“Very accommodating”
They were very accommodating of us. After we arrived, we had a change in plans. They allowed us to split our two nights up over 3 days, so on the middle day we could go somewhere else for the night. They also allowed us a late checkout for no extra charge. Would recommend.
“Good hotel”
Our suit was very complete. Just like an appartment, with sitting room, dinnig room and kitchen. Internet was free. It is close by to downtown, 10 minutes walking.
“Not impressed”
This hotel is definitely not a 3 star hotel; rather a 2 star hotel. The hotel is very dated and need of repair and a remodeling. Feels like an old hotel from the 70s.
“Better than expected”
Needs parking space
“Convenient Location but needs Renovations”
Hotel was in easy walking distance to Sparks Street, Parliment and Byward Market and the Convention Centre. Large rooms but it all needs to be renovated to be a good place to stay. Didn't look like photos on website.
“Good value for money, great location, spacious clean rooms, but poor service”
The room was spacious, clean and was good value for money. The hotel is centrally located. But the front desk service was mediocre.
“Good hotel to stay in Ottawa”
Except one staff member - NEIL - rest of the staff were very helpful. Initially I had been given a room where internet was not working and had to spent 2 days without internet. Then one staff member shifted me to better room with internet. Hotel is pretty close to most of the downtown attractions and businesses.
“Embassy Review”
The hotel is in great walking distance to the market and Rideau Centre. However the hotel could use some updates. The fan in the bathroom does not work/exist causing the ceiling to crack. There were cracks in the walls as well as in the bedroom.
