Nice hotel close to all the main attractions.

Posted 15-Dec-2014
Pros: The welcoming glass of Champaign, the room turndown service, bathrobes in room. All of these extras make you feel welcome.
Cons: The cost of valet parking should be the same as parking in lots near the hotel as there is no self parking at the hotel.
Location: Close to parliament hill, the market and shopping mall. 15 minute walk. Close to bank street and lauier street. 5 minute walk. Lots of coffee shops.
Had no problems walking to parliament hill or the market. 15 minute walk. Close to bank street and lauier street. 5 minute walk. Had no problems while staying at this hotel and will return on my next trip to Ottawa. Would also recommend the Arc to friends and family. The rooms are small but quite comfortable. The attention to details makes this hotel special.

Good location

Posted 12-Dec-2014
Pros: Great linens, good service.
Cons: The place is looking tired.
The ARC is looking a bit tired. When it was opened, it had a certain charm, though it was clear that they had transformed it from the Howard Johnson's to a boutique hotel on the cheap. They didn't replace the old elevators and the furniture was IKEA like, but it had style and great service. The service is still excellent, but the place is looking pretty worn, particularly the carpets and of course the elevators. They have also skimped a bit on the bathroom products.

Rescued from disappointing

Posted 7-Dec-2014
Pros: Staff were friendly, mat for the shower was there as requested on line, bathrobes behind the door, an apple and water set out at bedtime.
Cons: Offer to compensate when something goes amiss.
Location: I think the Baton Rouge is walkable and good food and fun from my visit a couple of years ago.
How can any top notch hotel room not have a chair to sit in other than a desk chair? The rescue story was that I had booked many weeks ago and also reserved for myself and an old friend in their Lounge for dinner on a Friday night, and was told a few days before arrival that there was to be an event such that my reservation was cancelled, and when I asked what they might do to rescue the evening, and when I suggested taxi costs might be covered, they agreed to do that. The first time my husband and I arrived there two plus years ago, there was a bottle of wine beside the reception desk and we were offered a glass, which was lovely! There was the same set up when I arrived this time but no offer of a glass of wine. So, expectations that did not come to pass.

Brick Wall

Posted 4-Dec-2014
Pros: The staff was very pleasant and they offer you a glass of white wine when you arrive.
Cons: I think breakfast should be cheaper as there are other options in the neighborhood that are 50% cheaper.
Location: It is a bit of a strange location. After 9 pm the street are empty empty empty and it was hard to get something to eat when I checked in.
The hotel is really a basic clean place to sleep not really what I would call a boutique hotel. I opened my drapes and the window looks right into a brick wall. I can't remember when I had a worse view.

Loved this Hotel. Will definitely be back!

Posted 29-Nov-2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, and Staff.
Cons: perhaps the Lounge could be open a little later for us late travellers.
Location: excellent Location. Loved the hide-away feel to it. Close to Parliment.
As a last minute get-away trip, we hadn't pre-booked anything. So glad we found Arc The Hotel! We booked it on the merits of the Expedia reviews, and were completely satisfied with our stay. The room was a twitch smaller than expected, but it was super clean, the staff were super friendly, and the room-service breakfast was worth the price....which more than makes up for the size. The bed was very good and I didn't need to use my ear-plugs or my night-mask (which is high praise indeed!) We will most definitely be recommending this Hotel to our friends!!!

Quiet and nice place

Posted 25-Nov-2014
We stayed one night and found the room comfortable and very clean. The housekeeper was in the room upon arrive to greet us and made sure everything was okay in there. I found the room very quiet almost sound proof. Which I liked. Staff were friendly. We Would stay there again.
