"Nice hotel -- but NOT near airport"
I booked this hotel as I was going to be in Rome just for one night -- I flew in from Sicily and then was flying out to the US the next morning. Based on the map of the hotel's location - I was under the impression that it was near the hotel. It wasn't. It was a 45 minute taxi ride both ways - costing 48-58 Euro each way. The hotel is perfectly fine -- a standard hotel. I found that the overnight front desk agent was not pleasant -- it felt as if I was inconveniencing him by wanting to check in/ask questions, but the next morning, the front desk agent was extremely nice and helpful. Overall, nice hotel.

"Great hotel with good price!"
Even though I liked the hotel we did not have such a pleasant experience on the first 2 days. A group of Italian teenagers came and stayed up until 2am kicking and screaming some of the doors which they broke. The management allowed them to be at the pool until midnight and they were smoking, drinking, and yelling! I found that the management did not consider the remaining guests and I found that just wrong. We made 2 complaints and they changed us to a different floor level as we had our 6 years old with us. We were in the same floor level as those teenagers. After they left the hotel it was a much pleasant stay but I felt that the management failed to help everyone else as the pool is only open until 7pm and they allowed those kids in there until midnight.

Newish hotel, pleasant and helpful staff, clean and spacious rooms. Nothing to be done about the location, which is nice enough and on a main route, although the journey to the centre of Rome takes around an hour, hour and a quarter depending on waits for buses and trains. Close to a market and gelaterias, etc. A good hotel if you want good value, even if it is a remove from the sights. Ostia is about a half hour away by bus.

"Place close to the fumicino airport"
The hosts lived next door and were very nice and showed us our rooms. They can speak English. This place is very far from train station, so if you plan to sightsee in Rome then find some other place close to a train station and closer to all the sights. This place is good to stay if you want to go to the airport, 25-30 minutes ride by taxi to the airport. We stayed one night at this place in June 2010 There is nothing close by here, except for a couple of restaurants and a few shopping places.

"Close and comfortable"
I chose this hotel for its closeness to Fiumiicino Airport in Rome. The room was clean and comfortable. Not large, but adequate for a few day stay. The front desk person was amazingly helpful and pleasant. The housekeeping staff was great in changing the king bed to two twins. They provided secure parking without extra charge. They offered free WiFi. Restaurants were nearby as was the beach. I appreciate clean and comfortable and don't need a four or five star rating. La Riva satisfied my requirements. The hotel provided a tasty and adequate breakfast. I would definitely stay there again if I ever considered a return trip to Rome. I doubt that I will ever return to Rome. It was unbelievably crowded, expensive and unpleasant. If one enjoys spending untold hours with 5000 of your closest friends, Rome is the place to go. If not, there are many other places to visit. I lived in Europe for six years and traveled most of the continent. La Riva was a very pleasant stay in comparison to many others over the years.

    Ostia Hotels Guide

Lying 31 kilometres southwest of Rome, Lido di Ostia this is Rome’s seafront. Most of the busy beach is privatised, so there is a surcharge for use and loungers and parasols. The jewel of the area is nearby Ostia Antica. The architectural site gives a fascinating insight into the everyday life of sailors, merchants and slaves dating to the fourth century B.C. It later became Ancient Rome’s port for 600 years.
