“Great hotel”
I've styaed in many of the hotels in Oslo, and this is definitely up there with the best!
“A nice hotel”
We really like this nice hotel. It is situated in a quite neighbourhood but not far away from the city centre by either Tram or walking. The staff are nice and help. The room we stayed in is spacious and modern. The most important is that the room is very comfortable.
“Lovely hotel”
I loved this hotel. Very nicely designed. Lovely surroundings, I walked to the center in some 15 minutes. My single room was a bit small but still very comfy. The TV was a bit fiddly but once you know how it works it is fine. The girls at the reception were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not bad at all. I would definitely stay in this hotel during my next visit. I hope they will not increase their prices by then.
“great quiet location, excellent hotel, free parking”
One of the reasons we selected this hotel was for the free parking and quiet neighborhood. We chose to park near the front door but understand that there is a courtyard in the back for parking as well. It is in a beautiful area surrounded by some embassy homes and other nicely maintained properties. The hotel is just a few blocks from the Parliament building, nice local shopping district, and about 20 minute walk to the Vigeland Sculpture Park and Oslo Museum. There are about 6 or 7 steps that you do need to nativigate with your luggage to get into the hotel, but once inside there is an elevator. The basement floor had the buffet breakfast which was very nice. The front desk staff had plenty of maps where they would highlight on it where we wanted to go. We purchased Oslo cards at the front desk. We took the metro to the Ski Museum which was definitely a highlight of our trip. The hotel provides you with a code to enter if you are coming back after 11 p.m. We had 2 large windows in our room, desk with chair, and one or two easy chairs and small coffee table. The bathroom had a small sink and shower which made putting all our toiletries in the bathroom a little challenging, but everything was very clean. We had king bed (2 singles put together which is common overseas). The room was nicely decorated and had high ceilings. This new hotel with relatively few rooms had a very cozy/homey feeling.
“Saga Hote, Oslo”
This hotel was only re-opened April 2011 after renovations. It is a small hotel in a nice residential area in the Froger Area, not that far from Froger park. We found it on Expedia as we were having difficulty finding any central or outlying hotel on the rail like, thank to Bon Jovi playing in Oslo during the week. It is reachable by walking from Ake Bruger or the Royal Palace park ... but we didn't as it was wet most days! There is a tram service and it is easily served by taxi's, about 130kr from Ake Bruger. If the wx was better, I'd recommend getting a Oslo City Bike pass as there are racks of city hire bikes near by.
“Large and modern rooms, great breakfast”
Only negative point was I had a top floor room with skylights. It was hard to sleep on rainy nights! Other than that, very satisfied. Excellent all-encompassing breakfast.
