Very nice quiet quaint hotel
This hotel is overall, a very good hotel. The rooms are very nice, maybe a little small, but very clean and a very native Norwegian Forest look. The breakfast was average, but the best thing about this hotel was the staff. They were so helpful with us planning our days, they even gave us a quick tour of the area. I will choose to stay in this hotel again when I go to Oslo next time.

The view was amazing & they made two special meals to accommodate our special dinning needs. The food was as good as the view.

Great Historical Hotel. We really enjoyed it. Be aware that is not in the city center. But on wonderful location for nature lovers.

It’s an historical property and it’s charm & decoration are superb. Don’t expect a normal hotel. If you like History, Art & Details: This is the place for you. Be aware that it’s not locate in the city center but in the outskirts. But the place and its views are part of the fun.

It was in an interesting spot (near the 1952 Winter Olympics area). A lot awkward steps. Overall it was nice, clean, and breakfast was good.

Great hotel close to Oslo
Nice hotel with beautiful views across Oslo. Only downside is a little far from the main city but you get beautiful views in return.

Incredible Stay at an Amazing Hotel
This hotel was utterly amazing!! We arrived on the last day the hotel was open for the season but you would never have known it based on the high level of customer service that we received!! We arrived late afternoon and the concierge/front desk person was incredibly friendly and personable!! He asked if we would like reservations for the restaurant but we had planned on heading into the city. He suggested that we go get situated in our room which they had upgraded to a junior suite and then come back to the front desk for some tips about the city. He spent 30 minutes with us helping us find local spots to eat at and to sightsee!!! He was just amazing! We plan on returning to this hotel at our first opportunity!! All the staff members were very friendly and the atmosphere was just incomparable!! Everything was perfect!! But the concierge/front desk person was just the cherry on top!! Thank you Kit for making our stay one we will never forget!!

If you stayed at one of our single rooms these are smaller than our double rooms and Jr Suites. Some of our guests really like these rooms, which are very cute with a bed built into the wall, but some guests find them a bit small. The staff were nice and friendly, and the food was great. But, the room we stayed in was not as clean as I expected. It was smelly and I had to ask for an air freshener to spray around. Overall, it was a nice stay.

A wonderful choice for romance but less for family
Location is awesome with chalets style hotels close to forest, ski slopes and the Holmenkollen ski site. Decoration was good. We could not get two single beds in the room instead of a double although we paid a lot for the stay. The restaurant menu (gourmet menu) did not fit very well in our case since the portion are quiet small (for people like us who were exercising during the day, you are damn hungry at the end of the end and you dont want to pay a 7 course menu).

It is really “winter wonderland” at this time of year, with a lot of great winter sports activities to do. We are sorry that our season menu did not fit you and we understand that you got hungry after a lot of exercise during the day. For next time we do have an additional A La Carte Menu available which includes small courses like Danish sandwiches and bigger courses like Beef and Norwegian Cod. Stayed in the Hojden side, the newer construction. The building and room were beautiful, great view from our balcony. The property was quiet. Great staff. A wonderful experience, would definitely return.

Nice hotel, away but yet close to big city
Walking distance to tram to get to downtown Oslo (30 min ride) if you prefer not to drive. Nice breakfast buffet, nice pool and sauna. For dinner I would recommend nearby restaurant in Holmenkollen but don't miss breakfast.

Great hotel!
We really enjoyed staying at Lysebu. The hotel staff was great, they have a beautiful pool and sauna area and the breakfast was outstanding. The only thing we disliked was the shower. The water splashed out all over the bathroom floor leaving it soaked so we had to throw all of our towels down on the floor.

Comfortable and Relaxing Hotel!
Our stay at the Lysebu Hotel was nothing short of wonderful! The hotel is located about 30 mins outside of Oslo (short and cheap tram ride), but its location in the foothills of northern Oslo really allowed us to experience both the city culture and enjoy the opportunity to take in the nature of Norway. There are multiple hiking trails that begin on the doorstep of the hotel. The hotel facilities (pool, sauna, bar/lounge) combined with its historical significance make it a unique stay off the usual tourist-beaten track. In addition, the hotel has the best customer service my wife and I have experienced from a European hotel in awhile. Kit and other colleagues went well out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay even without request from us, providing us with several helpful suggestions for our future travel plans. Don't be discouraged from booking this hotel due to its seemingly detached location! It's well worth the time and money saved to stay in this relaxing hotel just outside of Oslo!

Mountain retreat that is very private.
I forgot my toothpaste, so I had to buy a brush and paste from reception. Great coffee machine, nice areas to sit and beautiful country. Breakfast buffet is put out on serving plates not metal trays. Nice touch, but it is difficult to keep them filled.

Unusual stay, warm reception, lots of breakfast items, though some of the warm food was cold on our weekend. Gym and pool. You need a car or the metro to get downtown. The in-room shower room is very tight. Free coffee, free parking. A sign or two would help to find the hotel and parking area more easily.

Fantastic place from every point of view. Beautiful setting in hills 20 minutes outside Oslo but opposite side from airport so don't take taxi. Modern but homey. Great rooms, food, service, pool & sauna. Book ahead for dinner. 10 minute walk to Metro station

Excellent Place for Romantic Satay
Hotel is at top of the hill and in the Jungle, beautiful view, nice place, very well maintained , very clean, combination of old and modern decoration, a bit far from city center( 8 KM and about 15 to 20 Minutes ) not easy to find the place without GPS, suitable for those have own or rented car, I will stay there again if I got chance to go to Oslo and will recommend to everybody going there for relaxation.

Only stayed one night and this was a surprise. Aimed at being a conference hotel, apparently, this was an excellent place to relax. The views from the room were excellent, the hotel was generally quiet and comfortable. No issues staying here again except that it is a fair way from Oslo itself but if you dont need to be there, this gives great access to the forests, walks and the ski slopes.

Great boutique hotel
Very nice boutique hotel on the hills of Oslo. Very clean and neat, but the modern interior design with the classic Norwegian wood surroundings didn't convince us. Excellent staff, ruined only by one quite rude and disorganised night shift concierge clerk. Overall an excellent solutions for somebody that wants to ski at holmenkollen and visit the city.

A weekend in fresh nature in Oslo
Exellent hotel, stylish, clean and beautiful surroundings. If you are a tourist/visitor who has come to see Oslo, this may be a little to far from Citycenter. You would need a car or go by taxi, but if you want to live in beautiful nature with spectacular view - this is for you. Prices at hotel is ridiculous high...even for a Norwegian. Some of the staff members where a bit arrogant, but we also experienced exellent service the whole weekend. New & Fresh !

Koselig hotell, men dessverre urutinerte og få ansatte. Anbefaler ikke afternoon tea, da sandwichene var tørre og quichen smakløs. Oppgis i menyen at det skal være luksuriøse snitter? Kakene på toppen var helt ok. Måtte vente på menyen til middag, da servitørene hadde mye å gjøre. Middagen var helt ok. Spiste to retter pasta med nordisk pesto og ytrefilet med kålstuing. God frokost. Rommet var fint. Kunne ønske at vannet i bassenget var varmere etter en lang skitur.
