University accommodation, would use again

Posted 17-Aug-2014
Pros: Clean, spacious. As advertised.
Cons: Wifi in rooms. Better cooked breakfast (for the extra charged).
Location: On the edge of town, plenty of eating places nearby. Relaxing park on the edge of the lake on the other side of town. Very nice area.
Clean, comfortable accommodation in a University campus. Friendly and helpful staff. Wifi only available in the reception area. Uni canteen for breakfast, extra $4 for cooked meal not worth it. Overall, very pleased, would use again.

A non-professional hotel, terrible!

Posted 12-Aug-2014
Pros: Please see above
Cons: Please see above
Location: None
1. The hotel address you can find at Google map, but I took one hour to find the building. You know why? The hotel name is tiny small, all the words of the hotel name out side of the hotel building putting together is same as size of an 11" x 8" print page. It is totally non-professional hotel doesn’t face outside customers; it actually is only to service the school students and parents. 2. The staff on front desk is terrible too. I asked them kindly to give me a receipt for my one night stay cost. They rudely refused me: "This is a hotel that doesn't give a receipt to customer", and "we didn't charge your money, Expedia did, you need ask Expedia to do that". I gave them an example that I ordered United Airline ticket from Expedia, the United Airline definitely like to give me itinerary receipt, why you can't do it for your customers? 3. The front desk staff asked me to hold $50 to my Credit card for safety, no really charge, just ordering. However, I found they already put the charge to my Credit card right away. I am asking my Credit card Company to dispute it now. I strongly suggest you don't choose the non-professional hotel if you don't like the bad experience I just had. And I suggest Expedia exclude the hotel out of their list soon.

Good rooms at a good price.

We had to do a hastily planned overnight stay in Oshawa and all the reasonable rooms were booked up because of Boots and Hearts. We found this one online but didn't expect much. Big surprise! Room was very nice and clean, staff was cheerful and courteous. Would definitely stay there again.

Very well priced but not very high end

The staff at desk was very rude. The room was clean but the beds aren't comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.

Hard to find 10 - 15 minute off 401

Posted 5-Aug-2014
Pros: Pleasant staff - quiet - clean.
Cons: Advertise where and how to find "college dorm" location.
I reserved the "motel" online saying there were only two rooms left. Upon arriving in Oshawa late at night, we had an extremely difficult time finding the "motel". After stopping twice at a convenience store for directions, we found that this location was actually a small college which rented out dorm rooms for the summer while students were gone. The dorm rooms were clean, private and adequate for a night's sleep. However, it took us over a half hour to actually find the front desk because we were driving around a college campus with no directions, looking for "Residence & Conference Centre". If it were not for us seeing a custodian cleaning rugs in a random building on campus after midnight who directed us to a distant parking lot, we would most likely have not found the correct building and proceeded on to another city, loosing our payment for the motel. Once arriving, they were pleasant and respectful. Room was clean but certainly a "dorm" experience. Many rooms were available. Bagels, cereal, juice and coffee for breakfast.

Not coming back sorry

Posted 4-Aug-2014
The place is ok but they have only wired in internet in the rooms and unreachable wi fi in the lobby that was not the greatest, there was suppose to be tv's in all the rooms but there was only one and it was very old and there was an annoying sound coming from it and it only had 10 channels. The beds were all springs. Not comfy at all. The games room is an empty room with a pool table in it. I called about the breakfast and was told it was a full breakfast. I got there and they said it was 3.99 a person if we wanted eggs etc. I was not amused. Oh and although there is access to a gym near by the hours are horrible. However the rooms were clean, are very roomy, there is bbqs which was great. The staff was nice. We won't be going back but if they upgraded the tv's, and added in wireless internet and a full breakfast I would come back for sure. For what I paid I expected a little more. I could have easily stayed at a motel for half the price and had the same or better quality stay.

Nice place to stay, reasonably priced

Posted 1-Aug-2014
Pros: Clean and spacy rooms. Free continental breakfast.
Cons: Wi-Fi was available only in the lobby.
We arrived very late due to traffic jam but the front desk was open 24 hrs. The hotel is actually a college residence hall and located in a campus. There is not big sign posted outside. So, we experienced a little difficulty to find it even though we already got <100 feet right in front of its building, probably because it was night time. However, the stuff was kind and helpful and guided us over the phone to the hotel.
