Pros: Clean rooms, good air conditioning, good room rates. Good breakfast and clean facility to eat it in. staff were friendly and available.
Cons: It would be great if coffee/tea could be available somewhere especially in the evenings maybe in the lobby. Even if it came at a small cost.
Location: Location great for most of Oshawa. Parking is free at the residence. Parkwood house is a good way to spend an hour or two.
I knew what the facilities were like before booking as my daughter had lived in the residence at the college. Some family members and myself were in Oshawa for a graduation. The facility was clean, air conditioner worked well, the check in was handled expertly, the staff were friendly. The breakfast was good, pretty standard continental breakfast style food, served in the restaurant on weekdays and in a breakfast room in the residence at the weekend. The food was fresh and laid out attractively. There was complimentary coffee and tea laid out in the hallway in the mornings. The rooms have two separate bedrooms with a kitchenette and a bathroom with shower. You will need to bring a hairdryer with you if you need one as there are none in the room. There is a microwave in the kitchen but unless you bring mugs etc there is nothing to make hot beverages with. We didn't have any problems with noise at any time, the only suggestion I had made to the front desk staff was a note on the white board in the lobby with directions to the breakfast room would be good, I met other guests like myself wandering around looking for the room. If you don't need all the extras a hotel might have and need a clean comfy place to stay at a very reasonable price then this is highly recomended.

What???? Renting as hotel????

Posted 17-Jun-2014
When booking with Expedia, I checked requirement: WiFi - there was no WiFi in this room. Staff offered an ethernet cable for $5.00 - which was only long enough to be used at desk, not while sitting on bed, nor in arm chair in kitchen/entrance. There was no coffee maker, no coffee, no cups in the room - does one have to ensure that when renting a hotel there is a coffee maker?? When I tried to cancel while in the hotel after realizing this disaster, they said cancellations had to be done through Expedia, on the website it stated that all cancellations had to be done with facility itself. The residence staff did their best to make good of bad - I am disappointed in Expedia, not the facility.

Walls are paper thin.

Pros: Very close to our son's home.
Cons: The beds could be more comfortable. Only double beds available as the rooms are too small for anything else.
We could hear people moving down the hall to their room at 3:00am.

Good location

Posted 16-Jun-2014
Pros: Beautiful surroundings.
Cons: The room could be more comfortable, and the breakfast, well, scrap it if that's all you have.
Location: Next door to the conservation area, and not far from downtown Oshawa, with shopping and restaurants.
Great surroundings, with carps and gold fish swimming in a scenic pond. The lobby area is clean and welcoming, but the room is rather spartan: the bed rather uncomfortable. Breakfast items were very limited, and the "buffet" in a room with bare minimum of seating, as the cafeteria was closed. Overall, I won't be going back.

It works fine.

It was as advertised and a pleasant experience. No problems; on campus and somewhat reminiscent of an upscale dormitory.

This is a student dorm and it feels like one!

Posted 5-Jun-2014
Cons: It needs real blinds (the ones in the room keep out about as much light as a tissue!) It could also use a kettle or coffee maker.
Location: It's on a college campus so great location if you want to be on campus.
I did not realize I was booking a dorm room and would not have booked it if I had.
