On the banks of the Clearwater River and on the Lewis and Clark scenic byway. Great place to relax. Be sure to request a balcony room. Note restaurant is not open on Mondays and the town of Orofino does not have much to see.

This is a beautiful hotel right by the Clearwater River, whats' not to like? The view was great , the weather awesome and the breakfast was more than I had expected. I highly recommend this site to all who like the outdoors and the friendliness of the staff. The only downside was that all the souvenirs were a little high priced and that there was no bacon, only sausage for breakfast. (The wife likes bacon!). But all in all, I can't wait to go back again.

“Excellent Weekend Getaway”

Needed to get out of town and relax for a few days, let some medication kick in and start feeling better. Calm, restful, clean, right on the river. Nicer in my opinion than any hotel on Palouse or LC valley, perhaps even between Riggins and CdA. An excellent restaurant on premesis for lunch and dinner.

The Best Western River's Edge in Orofino Idaho is a beautiful new hotel that really has worked hard to capture the flavor of Northern Idaho. Fishing, hunting, and the great outdoors are all enjoyed in Orofino and proof of this is displayed throughout the hotel - including a separate entrance to the fish cleaning station. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Pay extra for the river view. Waking up and looking out over the Clearwater River or staring up at millions of stars from your own balcony is absolutely worth it. The wireless internet is excellent (making it easy to check in with work before heading out for the day). The pool is well-kept (the hot tub could use some jets with a little more oomph though). There are cookies & cocoa in the evening until 10pm. The breakfast is wonderful (try the biscuits and gravy) and vigilantly watched over by one of the hotel staff who makes sure everyone is greeted and has what they need for an enjoyable breakfast. Orofino is a pretty little town and there are many interesting places to visit - the fish hatchery, Dworshak Dam or just head up into the hills and find a breathtaking view of the river valley below. Locals can point you in the right direction if you're interested in braving the Clearwater for a swim. There is golf locally but a special mention to Kayler's Bend Golf Course south of Orofino on Hwy 12 near the Peck turn off. Above all else, enjoy your stay at the River's Edge. Our family of four did and we will be back!!

“Orofino, ID Best Western”

The Best Western at Rivers Edge in Orofino is stunningly beautiful, both inside and out. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful, suggesting dining alternatives etc. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The only downside was the pool. My wife swam in it on Friday evening, and said that the water had a salty taste and was cloudy. She developed a cold after that, whether they are related, I don't know.
