NOT A DISNEY OWNED HOTEL!!!!!! Book Elsewhere!

Posted 22-Oct-2014
Pros: 2 front desk employees and the view of the lake. That's about it.
Cons: Just about everything from prices, disclosing the unbelievable amount of hidden and extra fees. mostly get Disney to charge directly for in park buys.
Location: location is fine all the parks are close and accessible
Small, cramped room. The worst bathroom ever. Tiny, Closter phobic shower and commode. NO fridge or microwave. Very expensive, as most resorts are, this one lacks amenities BIG TIME. But there's plenty of $10 bottles of water right in the room! The roadside La Quinta had more to offer during the pit stop on the way here from NC Came back to rest up one afternoon to find maintenance in the room with tools scattered all over the place, I figure a pipe broke or some type of emergency was being tended to, so I asked. No, this is just routine, I was told!! On OUR time, they decided to go in, drill holes in the bathroom walls and perform non-emergency upkeep? Ruined our last day at the resort! The parking was absolutely littered with some type of construction debris and I personally picked up 6 wood screws that were 3" long!! Spent the12 hour drive home worried if a had a screw in one of my tires, that was no fun! The billing was a nightmare, although front desk employees were nice and they proved helpful. Food is mediocre at best and is just obscenely priced! You cannot charge anything in the parks to your room, nor can you have purchases sent to your room!!! This is VERY misleading to guests looking to book a 'Disney' Hotel. I choose not to carry a lot of cash for obvious reasons around these big theme parks. This forces you to carry cash or a credit card which is risky at best. You will also then be forced to carry whatever you purchase for the whole day. Never Again!

Pros: Location is great very close to back gate of Epcot
The only issue was with house cleaning we returned to our room around 5:00 pm and the room had not be serviced yet. We wanted to take a nap and did not need cleaning the cleaning lady was just down the hall so we asked her if we could just swap out towels and that she could cross our room off the list. She said she couldn't do that and we would have to call front desk to see if we could. Why? All we needed were to change towels and she had towels! So instead we had to call front desk and they brought us up towels. Could have saved a trip and some frustration if she could have just given us clean towels.

Nice lobby, great for convention

Posted 20-Oct-2014
Pros: Close to the boardwalk and great pool areas.
Cons: Update furniture in rooms, and improve quality of food in the quick service restaurant. Clean room earlier in the day.
Location: Wdw, universal, seaworld and downtown disney are all nearby.
On the surface it seems like a good value but there are a lot of hidden fees. Parking lot fee, Internet fee, hotel fee etc. Rooms starting to look dated. Mattress had a big crater on one side. Asked to checkout at 3 as we had a night flight, was told for an extra $75 we could use the room. Room wasn't cleaned until 6:00pm. It is a convention center so be prepared for large rowdy crowds in the public areas especially at night.

Solid Resort

Posted 8-Oct-2014
My wife had a work conference at the Swan Hotel, we actually stayed at the Dolphin. They are one resort, two different buildings. The facilities are nice. They provide free transportation to some of the Disney facilities. If not provided they have cars for hire or will connect you with a taxi. Restaraunts on the resort are on the spendy side, but it's Disney so... Parking is spending as their is a valet fee as well as an overnight parking fee. The pool does stay open all the time so you can swim at night when the kids are sleeping. All in all a nice resort with good access to the local attractions.

spider webs and ants

Posted 8-Oct-2014
Pros: love the resort and excellent location outside of EPCOT
Unfortunately we were very disappointed in our stay. We were "upgraded" to a balcony room, but the balcony was covered in spider webs. After a call it was cleaned up, but later we had ants in the bathroom. It was a lovely resort with a great view, but the condition of the room was not good for the price. Resort fees and parking fees make what could be a good deal, not so good.

Everyone was very nice including house keeping. Great location, great food. Pool area is tons of fun. My only request is for more comfortable beds.
