“We loved this stay !!”
5 of 5 stars
Reviewed June 2, 2011
We went to Orlando a few days ago and we stayed at The Point Orlando Resort, it was very close to Universal Studios (3 mnts I guess) and about 15 mnts from Disney Parks. It's a pretty nice hotel, is not so big and it's very clean and comfortable, it's a bit elegant but not that much so you can feel really at home. The pool area is very nice and the lobby has a PC and wireless so you can connect your netbook or ipod and check out your emails or directions. The executive room has everything we need, minifridge, microwave and dinerware, so we bought some juice, bread, cookies, and microwave meal to eat at night. The staff was very very helpful and polite, we arrived very early in the morning and even though the check in was at 4pm they gave us our room, so we can take a nap before our first park tour.

“Very comfortable for family with kids!”
Very clean and very spacious hotel. Came with all accomodations. Very close to Universal Parks! Can't wait to return!
“Great Value, Friendly Staff, Nice rooms”
Staff was very friendly and they upgraded our rooms for free, which turned out to be a blessing. We were traveling with a 1 year old and the washer & dryer turned out really useful. They also had a crib ready in the room when we arrived. Hotel was very clean and welcoming. Overall, I had a great stay here. Some information about shuttles: Hotal is located very near Universal Studios. They had shuttles to Universal Studios, but it was at a fixed timing of 8.15am in the morning and returning at 7.30pm in the evening. With a 1 year old, the timing didn't suit us very well. The good thing is that a cab ride cost around $6 - $7 back to the hotel. As for Disney world, the shuttle is only to Epcot at 8.15am but with mutliple return timing. If you're going to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, or Hollywood Studios, you'll need to take another shuttle from Epcot. which means you'll most likely miss the opening of the team park. For the Disney World parks, we ended up driving.
“Great Location but be aware”
Great location just a few minutes from Universal. The condo units are nice but the floor plan for the 1 bedroom is out of balance. The living area is too small, the kitchen just right and the bathroom is too big. The bedroom is perfect. Pros: Comfortable bed in bedroom, clean kitchen and clean bathroom. Cons: Very disappointing staff service, shuttle service is once a day (really), and the sofa sleeper is a big, big joke. Do not depend on this bed to be comfortable or adequate for teens or adults. The mattress is about the worst. It's not even a mattress it's a piece of quilted clothe. Again, I would consider the one bedroom unit adequate for 2 adults and 2 kids. My young adult kids hated the sleeper sofa and were upset about the lack of comfort. The hotel staff would like to help you as little as possible. They were short and to the point on each question I asked and never sought to really engage in my issues or concerns. I would recommend this hotel but with all of the above qualifications.
“New York Very Happy Traveler”
The main reason I would return and would tell everyone to go there is the staff. Any hotel can be clean and new but it takes a great staff to make you welcome. Fabio did a great job along with the entire staff.
“Excellent hotel”
We were very pleased with our stay....great location at a fair price. We will be back.
“Only go if you have a car.”
The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean and nice. It was a block or two walk from amenities and had limited services at the hotel. It did have a pretty good suttle service to the major parks but not suttle to or from the airport and cabs are pricey. It had limited and sometimes expensive food choices (ie. breakfast) and the nearest restaurants were a good two or three blocks away walking. If you had a car and used the kitchen/kitchenette facilites this is a good place for you. If you do not plan to rent a car make sure you have time to wait around and are ready to use public transportation.
“Pleasantly surprised”
I was pleasantly surprised to see the quality of The Point Resort. I booked a king with pullout couch. At checkin the desk clerk offered to upgrade my room to a double king, which I was happy about. The room was fairly newly renovated, clean and nicely decorated; bed was very comfortable. Very close to Universal Orlando theme parks, which was THE agenda (5 minutes down the street). I would definitely stay at the Point again if the price is right.
“As I expected”
I am really satisfy with the service, and location
“Perfect Vacation Spot”
we got the one bedroom suite and was 100% satisfied. during our vacation we stayed at 3 hotels... this was by far the BEST! it really was some of the little things that counted. the staff was so attentive. the suite was absolutely breath taking and all the extras!!! we have already decided, The Point will be the only place that we stay in Orlando.
“nice stay”
Went down for holloween horror night hotel was close and the beds were comfee the service was good and the pool bar was nice
