“Terrific value”
Four adults made this our home base for a 3-day tour of Universal and Disney. The Fountains were an incredible value for a clean, relatively spacious, and very well-equipped two-bedroom apartment with screened porch. We didn't use the resort facilities because we were out at the theme parks from morning through night. Both Disney and University were about 15-20 minutes away. Just a few cautions: You will get hit up for a time share pitch; you must pay extra for daily maid service (we just hung up our towels and reused them); restaurants and a grocery store are a few minutes' drive away; and some resort facilities were closed during our stay.
“Clean, great place to return to after day in the parks”
Very clean, great layout of rooms, very spacious, great pools, close to many things, quiet
“The Fountains, Orlando”
The Fountains is a large resort hotel based on self-catering apartments. These apartments are spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. The whole complex is clean and well-maintained, but be aware that housekeeping during your stay will cost extra. The leisure facilities are very good, particularly the swimming pools, and there is a good fitness suite which is not mentioned in the Expedia listing. If the Fountains lacks anything, it is a quality on-site restuarant. The only eatery on the complex is a poolside bar-food type affair featuring paper baskets and plastic cutlery. There are some quite good restuarants and takeaways in the area, however and a Publix supermarket half a mile down the road, so you're not going to starve! I'd recommend the Fountains - it's very well placed for the Orlando attractions, and it's clean and safe. Kids in particular will love the facilities, and overall it represents good value for money.
“Relaxing, clean, friendly, great place to stay.”
Although this property is a timeshare (as are many )don,t be put off. We were treated extremely well and offered all the amenities the hotel offered. A relaxing hotel, no big kids clubs, although a small activities centre by the pool on offer for everyone. Pool area was lovely and set next to a pretty lake. Rooms very spacious, well equipped, kitchen area inc. w/machine,dryer,american style fridge/freezer with ice maker and dishwasher. Exc. air/con, which we needed as it was very hot in July. Patio area was quite small with a table and 4 chairs. The Fountains was ideal for all the attractions but you need a car to access these. You are situated in a quiet area well away from any night life or restuarants as the hotel is at the southern end of IDrive. The I-trolly bus does stop right outside the Fountains if you want to leave the car behind. The hotel is in the middle of building a new pool and lazy river together with more appartments which should be completed by Feb 2008. This spoilt our view from the appartment but the noise was minimal. We did sit through a timeshare presentation and like all those who do, were rewarded with a gift, this can be tickets to a show,Seaworld or even Disney vouchers. There was no hard selling and you can just walk away. If you stay here just check when you are due to be cleaned as this was a little haphazard although they happily cleaned once we mentioned it. We had a great holiday and this hotel was lovely.
“nice place”
very nice place to stay
“Excellent”
Excellent appartments, very spacious with outstanding views from the balcony. Quiet very secure.Only downside, the bar in the clubhouse closes a little early at 10pm. The main pool is huge clean and very children friendly, which requires for me a bridge to go over, thats only because I have some walking difficulties.
“very nice”
The Fountains was a great place to stay in Orlando. We had a roomy two bedroom, two bathroom. It had a nice screened in balcony that we sat on each night with a view of the fountains. The pools were nice and the kids enjoyed the smoothies they sold at the poolside snack bar. The location was convenient. Not too far from the airport and close to the restaurants and attractions. We weren't able to check in before 4 pm, which would have been nice after an early morning flight.
“Quite a place!”
This is a huge complex with many things to do on site...way too much for us to even scratch the surface of on a weekend trip! The location is very convenient to Sea World, restaurants and shopping. The condo was great...2 bedroom condo for much less than a hotel would cost! You will be asked if you would like to hear a time-share presentation...after our initial 'no thanks', we were asked once more...but in a nice manner, no harassment. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
“Beautiful hotel and pool!!”
This was a very nice hotel to stay at with excellent pool.
“Had a great time.”
Great experience. Second time we have stayed at this facility.
