Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside features a Mississippi-style waterway and Southern-inspired decor. The resort encompasses two themed areas: an antebellum-style mansion in the Magnolia Bend area and rustic, country-style lodges in the Alligator Bayou section.
The resort's registration area has the look and feel of a steamboat, while the three-and-a-half-acre complex called Ol' Man Island is created to look like an old-time water hole, with rope swings, a waterslide, and a play area. Nearby fishing holes are stocked. In addition to this pool there are five other swimming pools along with an arcade, a restaurant, food court, and a snack shop. Guests can also rent bicycles or different types of boats. On selected evenings, the campfire on de' bayou takes place behind the Fishin' Hole. Nightly horse-drawn carriage rides carry guests throughout the resort. Groceries, sundries and Disney® gifts are available at Fulton's General Store.

“It was a comfy experience”
The Disney Port Orleans hotel was nice and cozy with a good staff. It basically provided us {my fiance and I} with just about everything we needed. But I must say next year I want a hotel with a monorail.
“Fantastic Value”
We went during a very slow time in Disney, and this hotel was serene. The grounds are incredibly well kept and beautiful. Great place to unwind, and lots to do right at the resort. Room was slightly small, but clean and comfortable. Every "cast member" we encountered at the hotel was friendly and informative. Next time we will spend more time relaxing on the hotel's property and less running through all of the parks.
“Loved it!!”
Stayed there Nov.11-13 2008.First time at Port Orleans Riverside and we loved it.Clean room, comfortable bed.Alot better than Disney's All-Star Resorts and less crowded.Waiting time for the shuttles were less than 8 min.We only visited EPCOT which was also not crowded. This is the perfect time to visit.
“Great Vacation”
We had a great time. This is the third time our family has stayed here and each time has been great. The room was quiet and clean and the grounds are beautiful. The transportation system, either by bus or boat, was extremely helpful because I never had to use my car. Just a wonderful Disney hotel.
“Felt like home”
Disney's Port Orleans Riverside was another great Disney resort. We were very pleased with our stay and we felt like we were back in New Orleans. We would gladly recommend this resort to anyone and will definately will be back again.
“Port Orleans Riverside, great motel but book thru Disney.”
Port Orleans Riverside is well managed, clean and a delight to visit. Staff go out of their way to answer questions and assist visitors. The Magical Express service transported us from the airport to the main lodge check-in; our bags were claimed by the express and were in our room a few hours later. Booking thru Expedia, the advertised waterview room we paid for was stuck under a staircase facing a fenced pool. Expedia buys groups of room and resells them, so beware what you get. Expedia also mangaged to get not only our names spelled incorrectly on our flight reservation, but our room reservation. Suggest booking directly thru Disney, room rates about the same plus you would get special Disney luggage tags, discounts on park passes and other perks. And probably your name spelled corrrectly
“I would stay at the resort again.”
The location was wonderful and no hotel takes care of their guests like Disney. The pools and restaurants were all conveniently located and there was a wonderful water taxi from the hotel to Downtown Disney.
“Peaceful retreat in the midst of Disneyworld”
Port Orleans Riverside is a great hotel if you are looking for a quiet retreat from the busyness and noise of a Disneyworld Vacation. As all Disney resorts, there is convenient shuttle service to any of the theme parks and of course the Magical Express to get you to and from the airport. But Riverside attraction is the layout of their guest rooms which feel like Southern Mansions. Located along the Sassogaula River, a magnolia tree lined path connects these guest house to the main commons area. It's quiet day and night, so you can get some rest. Furthermore, it has a ferry which connects directly to Downtown Disney which gives you dining and shopping options. Finally, Riverside also has a fishing hole with worms and live bass...it was a wonderful change of pace from Mickey for my 5 year old.
“Worth the Perks to stay in Disney”
Hotel was great. It was the first stop into Disney which makes it great to get started and cheaper if you want to take a taxi anywhere. Grounds were fun for the kids who loved the pool here and at the sister hotel, French Quarter. Disney perks - free pick up and return to Orlando Int'l airport, extended Disney hours, great shuttles that leave every 10-15 minutes all over the park and to downtown Disney.
“Definate Must Stay”
There aren't enough words to give credit to Disney Resorts. Our stay here at Riverside was absolutely phenomenal! The staff here are all extremely nice and helpful. Our room was more than spacious enough for our family of 3 and the cold AC was refreshing after long hot days in the parks. The room was always clean and refreshed everyday. We are already planning a return trip to this fabulous resort.
