“Great place to stay at Disney”
Have been to Disney World 3 times now and this was the best place to stay for convenience of the busses getting to and from the parks. There is mainly just the one bus stop at the French Quarter and most of the time we got off first before Riverside (which has 4 stops) and we were mostly the last ones to be picked up before going to the parks. The ride on the boat to Downtown Disney was also nice and took about 30 min but was very scenic. The bus would just be 5-10 min. Food court was reasonable for the price but limited selection. The beignets were delicious and a bargain. Disney's new meal plan is good but only if you eat a lot since everyone in the party has to be on it and 3 large meals a day plus snacks and rides is often too much, also some of the smaller food stands had trouble taking the food coupons if there electronics were not working. The refillable drink cups at the resort was worth it. Room and pools were clean and they had a great guy playing jazz Wed to Sat night at the lobby bar. He was a fantastic musician and a bonus for our stay to have live music at this type of hotel. Reception and the concierge desk were more than helpful in clarifying he somewhat confusing park passes and booking reservations for dinner anywhere in WDW. This is a nice small property in the moderate range for WDW and I'd go back again.
“Great place to stay in Disney World!”
We stayed here in Oct/Nov 07 and it was great! It is small enough so that your room was likely close to everything the hotel offered - pool, restaurant, lobby, store, buses. The pool area was a huge hit with the kids (ours and everyone else's). The only complaint would be that unless you specifically request an upgrade, the room has two double beds. We found they were too small to comfortably fit two adults.
“Can't wait to go back!!”
My only regret is that I did not take enough pictures of the pool area!! My family just returned from our Disney trip and we loved the resort. We were in building seven which is the farthest from the main building where the food court is, however, it was fine. The walk took a mere few minutes and the grounds were so lovely to see. Our room was always clean when we returned and the maid entertained our daughter each day with her arrangements of the stuffed toys. The food court had plenty of options to choose from and stayed open late. The pizza was very good and you can heat up left overs in the microwave! The pool was a bit on the cool side, but huge in size. Always plenty of towels to use. The buses came frequently and we were first on the stop which meant you always got a seat. The room was large enough for a family of three and the beds were fine. We had no problem getting a bed rail for our daughter on the first night. One suggestion though. If you arrive by the Magical Express pack a swimsuit in your carry on bag. We did wait three hours for our luggage to arrive and were grateful to have the suits. Take the boat to or from Downtown Disney. It is a leisurely way to enjoy the view and relax. Also, there were activities in the food court to keep the kids entertained, like colouring, blocks and Disney TV. Our daughter even got to be a Junior Chef!! We will go back to the French Quarter. We loved it!!
“Worked for our family of 4”
Clean and well-kept room. Excellent service. Excellent value. Quiet room. Shuttle service to the parks and to the airport worked very well for us. We would stay here again.
“NICE VIEW”
Our room was very nice and neat. The room had very nice decoration like the bed cover, with Micky's face.
“Well maintained, but getting older”
Recently we stayed at the Port Orleans hotel for 1 night. The service was very good, the grounds are impeccable, and the setting is beautiful. The room was nicely appointed. The only negative was the realization the hotel is older and, despite an obvious aggressive maintenance schedule, there are some signs it is 20 years old. Not really a problem at all, just not quite as nice as a newer facility - or not as nice as when we stayed 15 years ago. But I would not hesitate to return, for the right price.
“Another Happy DisneyWorld Trip”
The hotel was exactly as described on the website - from the webcam that showed the room to the site map, we got exactly what we expected from this hotel, which was all positive. Two nice surprises: a poolside bar, which made the evenings by the pool more enjoyable, and the riverfront walkway, which was perfect for an early morning stroll. The cafeteria/restaurant is very loud, but again that is what you would expect from this type of venue. Staff in the gift shop were very helpful and assisted us in finding some products that we had seen in the Park but neglected to purchase. All in all, another magical trip to the happiest place on earth!
“enjoyed the stay inside the park”
Good value off season,
“Enjoyed the hotel and will return”
The hotel was clean and quiet. Bus transportation to all attractions was efficient and fast. Nice ride down the river to Downtown Disney. Restaurant was crowded during peak times but we discovered we could use Riverside facilities. The resaurant is larger. The pool was clean and perfect size for our 4 year old daughter. we are planning to return soon.
“Oh so very Disney”
French Quarter is a typical Disney Moderate Hotel. Very small beds good storage for clothes. We traveled with 2 moms and 2 teen girls. We asked for extra towels daily. Always got them. One day we got 17...we laughed. The rooms were not quite clean but not bad. Good shower. We were in the farthest building #7 long walk to the main areas, not as bad as other larger resorts. Great transportation within in WDW. Would go back
