Property Amenities
Disney's Contemporary Resort is located on Bay Lake and the hotel's main outdoor pool—which is shaped like Mickey's ears—overlooks the lake. The resort has a marina where guests can rent sailboats, Hobie cats, and pontoon boats, or arrange a fishing excursion. Other water sports include parasailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, and tubing. A playground and game arcade are also available. In addition, the resort has interactive water fountains, which kids enjoy. Guests can use tennis and volleyball courts, and a fitness center offers Cybex and cardio equipment as well as a dry sauna. There is 24-hour room service, and a hair salon, gift shop, and merchandise shops are located within the resort.
The resort offers 90,000 square feet of meeting space with support including a business center, banquet facilities, exhibit space, ballrooms, and audio-video equipment. A sleek monorail whizzes through the center of the building, transporting guests to the Magic Kingdom® Park and Epcot®. Complimentary transportation is also provided via motorcoach to other Disney Theme Parks, both water parks, and the Downtown Disney® Area.
Disney's Magical Express: Guests of this resort are eligible for complimentary Disney's Magical Express service. Motor coaches pick up guests at Orlando International Airport and drop off at Walt Disney World® Resort Hotels. Disney staff members pick up bags and deliver them straight to guestrooms (for arrivals between 5 AM and 10 PM). Guests arriving outside of these hours should pick up their baggage at baggage claim to carry with them on the motor coach.
This hotel is nonsmoking except in designated outdoor areas.

Disney's Contemporary Resort offers 1,008 guestrooms in three separate buildings: the 10-story main Tower and two adjacent three-story Garden Wings. Many rooms have private, furnished balconies. Some units also offer garden views. Room decor is futuristic, with colorful geometric designs.
All rooms have sitting areas with tables and chairs, ceiling fans, wall safes, irons and ironing boards, telephones with voice mail, and high-speed Internet access (surcharge applies). In addition, most accommodations have a sofa bed or day bed in addition to regular bed types. Bathrooms provide hair dryers and separate vanity areas. Refrigerators are standard in most rooms (available on request in other rooms for a surcharge).
All guestrooms (including room patios and balconies) are nonsmoking.
Dining
Food 'n Fun Center - Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks are offered here via convenient counter service. Lunch and dinner choices include grilled chicken, quiche, hamburgers, hot dogs, Chef salads, and pizza. Cold sandwiches and snacks are available 24 hours a day.
Outer Rim - Overlooking Bay Lake, this cocktail lounge serves specialty drinks, cocktails, and appetizers from midday till late evening.
Sand Bar and Grill - The poolside bar offers cold drinks, cocktails, and menu selections including burgers, deli sandwiches, and ice cream.
Chef Mickey's Restaurant - Located on the fourth floor of the resort, this large restaurant offers breakfast and dinner buffets with Disney characters as special guests. Dinner buffets include prime rib, peel-and-eat shrimp, and daily specials while breakfast buffets consist of fresh fruit, bagels, omelets, Mickey waffles, and more. Priority seating is recommended.
Concourse Steakhouse - Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all served with the monorail concourse as a backdrop in this family-friendly steakhouse. Menu items include Mickey waffles, salads, sandwiches, burgers, prime-cut steaks, and seafood entrees. Priority seating is recommended.
California Grill - Offering expansive views of the Magic Kingdom® Park from the 15th floor, this award-winning restaurant serves American cuisine with a West Coast influence. Dinner only is served and prepared in an on-stage kitchen. A large selection of California wines is available. Priority seating is recommended.
Contemporary Grounds - This café is open from early morning till evening and serves espresso, lattes, and baked goods.
Recreation
Located on Bay Lake, the resort has a small sandy beach and its own marina that rents sailboats, Hobie cats, and pontoon boats. Fishing excursions can be arranged, and additional water sports include parasailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, and tubing (surcharge applies for all water-sports rentals). The hotel's main outdoor pool is created in the shape of Mickey's ears and overlooks the bay; there is also a second pool, an additional children's pool, and a spa tub. Six clay tennis courts and sand volleyball courts are available, and the fitness center has Cybex and cardiovascular equipment as well as a dry sauna. A playground, interactive water fountains, and game arcade are also provided.
The 36-hole Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park are both six miles from the resort via complimentary transportation. The resort's guest service desk can assist with reservations on any one of Disney's five PGA tour–caliber golf courses, all located on Walt Disney World® Resort property. A 9-hole walking course is also available.

great experience
“Had a memoriable time in Walt Disney World”
The hotel service was the most memoriable. Friendly house services, guest service reps, front desk, bell hops, and wait help at their great restaurants. We ate at the Contemporary's steakhouse and their steaks are spectacular. I highly recommend going there.
“Great for kids”
Great hotel to stay at with kids--staff is very friendly, and it is easy to get to the parks from the hotel. Makes it a lot easier to take mid-afternoon naps with little ones. However, it is a little bit noisy--kids running up and down hallways, etc.
“Great Hotel”
We had a great time at the Contemporary. They had renovated most of the hotel since our previous stay in 2006 and did a great job. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to stay at this hotel.
“Clean and attentive service”
The room was spacious, clean and well equipped, enough towels, soap, etc. The hotel has a great view of the Magic Kingdom and the bay. My only problem is that an internet connection cost 9.95/day

Only complaint was poorly serviced elevators.
“Disney at their very best”
We stayed at the Contemporary Resort for our 30th Wedding anniversay. Everthing about our stay was exceptional. From the major items including hotel location, decor, cleanliness, dining quality to smaller details such as many cast members wishing us a "happy anniversary" all contributed to a wonderful stay. No hesitation in recommending. Didn't want to leave!

The Contemporary's exemplary service began the second we walked through the door. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone who likes to be spoiled while on vacation.

the kids loved roasting marshmallows at night. mom and meema loved the hot tub so close to the pool we could talk to the kids as they swam by. we all enjoyed the nightly movie on the beach.

The hotel was fabulous as was the staff. We found them to be very accomodating. Would highly recommend this hotel.
