“Unexpected Pleasure”
My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Surf and sand Resort. We got an upgrade and had the best view ever with the ocean crashing up a few feet of our room. We have stayed at some nice resorts but this was unexpected pleasure especially with the price we got from Expedia, It was a short walk on the beach to downtown Laguna Beach and a short drive to golf. We ate the restraunt Splash twice and the service and the food was excellent. Very quaint with a fantastic view.
“Stayed right on the beach, nice.”
Don't order the hotel breakfast room service. The food wasn't very good for the price. Go to a local restaurante instead. Everything else was great.

This is a great Luxurious and Family friendly hotel! You can't go wrong with it's own secluded beach. Friendly staff with great service
“Fabulous surfside view”
We stayed over Memorial Day weekend '09 and had a wonderful experience. Our room had a first floor balcony over the crashing surf with a spectacular view. Both the restaurant and bar were intimate with great service. The food at S&S was excellent, and our waitress the first night steered us to other nearby restaurants which we enjoyed as well, especially Tabu Grill. Overall, a much more soulful experience than the Ritz.
“Great for Family Vacations”
This was an excellent hotel for both a romantic getaway AND to take the family for the weekend. It had a hip,young vibe and was a very busy hotel with complimentary managers function, great music and ambiance and a killer view and position. I had friends who live locally come and visit me and they bought their 8mth old and 3yo - who loved the pool facilities as well as the beach amenities. We all loved the beach chairs and having lunch in gourmet take away boxes by the sea under umbrellas. The heated spa in summer was a slight turnoff - but plenty of kids were enjoying it. It would have been nice to see it as a designated kiddies pool. The rooms could not be faulted - you will be impressed, they are huge. I have recommended it to other family and friends traveling from Australia and would definately stay there again. It is important to mention that I was traveling solo, and this hotel was fabulous in making me feel comfortable.
“Amazing Staff!”
We got a great deal to book at Surf & Sand (Expedia was the least expensive quote by over one hundred dollars!) & took advantage of a long weekend for our Anniversary & some business. Wanting it to be romantic, we were disappointed to be put in a room directly over the pool which was filled with many loud children, even though I told the front desk it was for our anniversary & we wanted a nice room. When I called to see if anything could be done, Codie who answered the phone was wonderfully helpful. She said she would check & call me back, which she did promptly! She said she would be upgrading us to the building next door w/an amazing view! She did more than that! She & Jonathan from the bell service got the room ready, brought up our suitcases (we hadn't received them yet) & set them on the rack, plus left a wonderful note wishing us a Happy Anniversary with a free bottle of champagne!! Codie didn't just upgrade the view either! The room was larger & on the corner so we had a window looking up the coast as well. A real class act!! These 2 staff members made an Anniversary we will always remember!

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay at the Surf and Sand Resort. Everything about the resort was fantastic. The staff is wonderful. Thank you.
“on top of water”
many hotels are listed as beachfront and ocean view. here the rooms are literally on top of the beach, at high tide the ocean is under your deck. rooms are modern and comfortable with outstanding views and the constant phonetic reminder of the ocean. southern laguna, so nice neighborhood but this is orange county, you need wheels dude.
“Incredible Laguna Getaway”
We went for my partners Bday weekend and we were quite pleased with the property and the service. We had to wait a little longer than we expected upon check in but the complimentary champagne and chocolates did a lot to smooth that over. We had a Surfside category suite directly on the beach and it was very well appointed and had first class views. The balcony furniture was quite comfortable and was excellent for hours of people and wave watching. The only down side to this particular hotel was how expensive it was. In looking around at other hotel properties we walked by I think we stayed at the best , but as it often happens, you want the best you have to pay for it. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want a luxury getaway.
