This South Orange County resort and spa is halfway between San Diego and Los Angeles, and approximately 30 minutes from John Wayne Airport. Dana Point Harbor is half a mile away, Doheny State Beach is one mile from the hotel, and Laguna Beach is 8.5 miles north.
The Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa's 14,000-square-foot, on-site spa has separate changing areas for men and women, private lockers, spa tub, steam room, sauna, and Swiss showers with multiple showerheads. Signature blended aromatherapy products are used in conjunction with services, which include massage, body wraps and scrubs, facials, and manicures/pedicures. Special amenities include a deluxe spa suite with a private outdoor spa tub, treatment room for two, and Vichy showers, gentle cascades of water that complement body treatments.
A 2,500-square-foot workout center is attached to the spa and is open 24 hours for guests of Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa.
The resort also has 55,000 square feet of event space, including a ballroom with 14-foot ceilings, a 65-seat tiered amphitheater, and indoor meeting rooms with DMX sound systems, versatile lighting, and high-speed Internet access (surcharge).
There are many on-site recreational opportunities and a seasonal kids' club (surcharge). The resort has two heated, ocean-view outdoor pools with spa tubs. The resort has an on-site spa with steam room, sauna, spa tub, and adjacent exercise facility. Guests also have access to two heated outdoor pools with spa tubs, both with ocean views. Yoga and water aerobics classes, tennis, basketball, volleyball, ping pong, bocce ball, croquet, and board games are all available on site as well. Bicycle and beach-buggy rentals can be arranged through the concierge, and guests have access to jogging and walking trails.
Fishing, whale watching, Jet Skiing, and sailing are all nearby, and several world-class golf courses—including Talega, Tietas Creek, Pelican Hill, and Monarch Beach—are within a half-hour's drive. Doheny State Beach is just under a mile away and has direct beach access.

“Extremely impressed”
This hotel was the best ever. The comfort the view the staff. my only problem was that the room service maids did not speak very well English so I had a hard time communicating with them.. everything else was perfect!
“Can't Wait To Go Back”
Our stay at this hotel was, by far, the nicest we've experienced in a long, long time. It really should have a five diamond rating!

The auto show nearby made getting around a little difficult. Also, there were too many weddings at one time going on.

I couldn't have been more happy with this resort. It was clean, everything was convenient adn easy to get to, the hotel staff couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. I would highly recommend a first floor room with a panoramic ocean view- fantastic. The well equipt gym was always clean with fresh citrus water, the lobby with fresh lemonade all day. The spa was heavenly. I can't say enough. Would Definitely go back here. Fabulous little coffee shoppe right in the hotel.

“Beautiful setting”
This is an elegant but casual hotel on beautiful grounds. The setting is absolutely breathtaking. This FEELS like you're in California!
“Great Pools for kids & adults, very nice service & rooms”
Marriott Laguna Cliffs did a major renovation over a year ago ($40M+) and we are impressed. This is our 4th visit to the hotel in 3 years. We loved the location because the pools are designed with steps along one entire long side where kids love to hang-out, parents can sit comfortably, and parents can watch less-capable swimmers practicing swim techniques SAFELY along the stairs. They also have a new kids pool area with shallower wading pools and water play "spray" features, but we never even visited there because my 5 year-old was so happy in the regular pool. Service by the pool (and throughout the hotel) is great and you MUST try the flatbread pizza they serve - delish! We were there for the 4th of July and lucked out with great weather, too (it's usually sunny there & hot from July - Sept, but occasionally a marine layer sets in that can make it cooler).
“A class in itself”
This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in, and a beautiful location! The grounds, overlooking Dana Point, encourage you to go for a walk. There were great views from every room that I could see. The fitness center was one of the best I've seen in a hotel, no need to find a gym in town. The room was very comfortable, with a desk area overlooking Dana Point for my work, and a patio just outside. Definately a place to return to.
“Would love to go back. Great place for a honeymoon.”
We only were able to stay for 2 days on our honey moon and this hotel was able to provide us with what we needed. A delightful and relaxing stay that we will always cherish. The view as well as the activities available inside and surrounding area were very fulfilling and we did not even use the spa. The sunday morning all american buffet was excellent. We even got to see several non programmed events such as a porsche club event right on the hotel grounds. I would recommend it . The only thing missing is an all inclusive package (including spa) at a reasonable price for us to go every year.
