Great hotel close to disneyland

Posted 17-Sep-2014
We spent 5 night at the Hojo and it was everything I expected it to be. Beds and pillows are so comfy which allowed us a great sleep after our long, hot days at disney. The kids loved the pool more than the water playground so spent every night at the pool. Lots of breakfast options close by, we did the ihop and used the kids eat free coupon and then a quick stop at McDonald's for a smoothie. You have to check out the pizza press a block down Harbour Blvd. Recommended by a guy who was leaving with a stack of pizza's, he says it's a great pizza at a great price and he was right. I loved the keurig in the room, which made making coffee easy every morning but wished that they had coffee cream available. I don't like powdered milk so had to do a shop at target for some supplies. Would also like to see less disposable cups, etc. Hotel rooms should have glasses and coffee mugs. Maybe the Hojo doesn't because they wouldn't have the dishwasher available like a hotel that had a restaurant on site would. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotels to others

Perfect hotel for families and Disneyland

Posted 14-Sep-2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: nothing
Location: Disneyland
The hotel was clean and the rooms pretty big. We had a 2nd floor room so our ceilings were really high making our room seem even larger. The waterpark was an awesome break for the kids in the middle of a busy day at Disneyland and it was open until 10 which was nice. We watched the fireworks from the hot tub one night. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I booked a room without a microwave by mistake and they brought me a spare after I called down to the front desk. It is a very short walk to the Disney front gates which is great if smaller children need to nap or just take a break.

Excellent proximity to Disneyland for the price

Posted 14-Sep-2014
Pros: Hotel staff we exceptional.
Location: WalMart grocery store is close by if your planning on taking snack or meals to the park to cut costs.
Great hotel if your just looking for the basics. The room was large enough to fit 2 adults an 11 yr old a 3month old and all of our stuff including our large stroller and the pull in crib. Didn't get to spend much time at the pool but the little bit we did was fun. Would definitely stay here again!!!

Close walk to Disneyland

Posted 10-Sep-2014
The hotel was great. They have an awesome waterpark for kids and a whole other pool in a different area of the hotel. It was a close walk back and fourth from disneyland which makes it easy on little ones if they just need a break. The only terrible thing was the free wifi. It sometimes wouldn't work. Maybe in different parts of the hotel it works better. All and all the hotel was pretty awesome.

Nice clean hotel for families

Posted 6-Sep-2014
Pros: Reasonable rate, clean, very child-friendly rooms (bunk-bed suite), and a wonderful water play park
Cons: -More modern decor -The drains in one bathroom became clogged. Staff responded and unglogged them immediately but they got clogged again soon after
Location: Very short walk to Disneyland. Mimi's restaurant was fantastic! Super reasonable prices and great food! Great outlet malls close by too!
Hotel wasn't fancy but was nice and clean and decor nicely complements a Disney visit. Easy walk to Disney even with my two tired 5 and 7 year old boys. Waterpark is great for little kids and the other garden pool is relaxing if you prefer a more quiet setting. The bunk bed suite was fantastic for our family of 4. Staff was very helpful and responded to our requests immediately. Was very very satisfied with my stay here and would stay here again for sure.

Great place for toddlers!

Posted 2-Sep-2014
Our almost 3 yr old son loved our stay at the Howard Johnson. He was beside himself when he caught a glimpse of the pirate water park area from the parking lot. We spent a few hours there, and another few at the pool. Lots of fresh towels available. If it's a busy holiday weekend, plan to arrive at the water park area at 10am (opening time) in order to grab a few chairs in the shade for your family. No restaurant on site but the gift shop is packed with lots of healthy snack options (breakfast bars, wheat thins, etc.) and you're within walking distance of a number of sit-down and fast food restaurants. We drove a few minutes to the Anaheim Garden Walk for dinner since there are tons of options and it's a beautifully maintained plaza. And, the hotel has a small game room that is a good place to spend a bit of time before/after water activities or meals. Great job!
