"Great staff. Great facilities. Wonderful vacation."
From the very start the front desk staff was very helpful and courteous and even assisted in switching my room when I noticed that we were on the wrong side of the hotel. Or maybe I was on the right side of the hotel and just thought I chose a better view? Who's to say, but I do know they were very friendly and accommodating! Also, whenever I had a question, there was always someone at the other end of the phone line who could help. I believe a gentleman named Geoffrey helped me a few times? I could be wrong on the name but I spoke to the same individual over the course of the 5 days I was there and he was more than helpful each time. I also truly appreciated the housekeeping staff who came back in the late afternoon to turn-down the room after I had slept through the morning's rounds. Thank you! Although the kids play area wasn't quite complete when I stayed (not that I would have used it), I could tell that it will be an awesome addition to the wonderful pool deck. I loved that the water was heated to the perfect temperature in the evenings as well. The workout facilities were awesome! I could spend all day playing on the raquet ball and basketball courts and lifting weights as well. The lockers were also very nice and had everything one could possibly need. I was very pleasantly surprised at the extensivity of the workout facilities and programs offered.

"Grand Californian Hotel and Spa - Disneyland"
Check in was easy. Only downside was that the Park Hopper Passes purchased through Expedia couldn't not be processed at the front desk. We had to go to the actual park ticket booth to get our park passes. The hotel does have turn down service where they come in, turn down you bed (leave chocolates) and turns on a light so you are not walking into a dark room at the end of the night. The maid service staff checks twice a day on the room and gives fresh towels each time as needed. Overall, this is a very nice place and we would stay there again if we go back to Disneyland.

"Hotel with kitchen 10-15mnutes to Disney gate."
This review is based on a 5 night stay in September 2014. I booked based on a friends recommendation. I liked the place. We were happy with our stay. Kids had fun. We stayed in a studio suite, and the pull out couch was adequate for our 9 and 12 year old kids. Having the kitchen is a huge bonus for preparing lunches and freezing water bottles. They also have a grocery service and you can have your fridge stocked with your grocery list before you arrive. Free parking is also a bonus, no hidden fees. It is a 10 to 15minute walk. Cab is about $7 if you had a long day. The place could could use a little updating, but is well kept up. They have a really nice full featured breakfast every morning. It is not the closest hotel, but the good value that is worth the extra walk. I hope management keeps the formula the same as they run a good operation there.

"Meets needs of a Disneyland trip perfectly"
I understand the other reviews that say the place is dated and not top notch amenities-wise. It's definitely not the ritz. But it's a hotel shaped like a castle, do you really expect a huge bathroom, dream comfort bed, and a mint on your pillow? C'mon. You want that stay in one of the Disneyland hotels or a luxury hotel further from the park. I love luxury but didn't see the value for this trip; all we did was sleep at the hotel as we spent 12 hours a day at the parks so it seemed a waste to spend the extra $$$ on the room. If what you want is a comfortable room/bed with great ac, a decent pool, and a short 2 block walk to the park for a relatively cheap price I'd recommend this place highly and if we go again I'd stay here. Had a few interactions with the staff and they were all friendly. Wifi was slow but I just switched to lte and was fine.
