“So happy!”
We stayed at this hotel for our Disneyland trip and I have to say that though it is an older hotel, it met our needs. It definitely is an older hotel that has been renovated, but it was clean, and had comfy beds-what more can you ask? It is a 10 minute walk from the front gates of the park, but a very easy, flat walk. The pool is also nice. We had two small children with us, and I felt very safe, and that is hands down the most important detail to me. The hotels closer to the park look like they could be nicer, but also look like you would pay a lot more. We were barely in our rooms--spent as much time at the park as we could--so I feel like this hotel was suitable for us.
“Overpriced, but adequate”
The quality of this hotel is equivalent to that of a decent hotel at half the price. If you're staying in this neighborhood, you're probably not spending a lot of time in your hotel room, so it gets the job done.
“Great Place to Stay by the Disneyland Resort!”
I ended up loving this hotel! The location was the greatest thing about this place as we could literally walk to everything in the area. Disneyland took a maximum of 10 minutes to walk there and it was great not to have to worry about parking or anything. There is a shuttle too if you need it, but we didn't. The hotel was comfortable and quiet. I ended up sleeping like a baby when we came back from Disneyland every night. The room was clean and well presented, and you could tell that they had just undergone a rennovation recently. Don't be fooled by the outside apprearance! If you are looking for a hotel next to Disney that is clean and affordable, the Jolly Roger is a great place to go!
“I feel Jolly like Roger!!”
Very friendly staff, clean rooms , great location. WOULD COME AGAIN.
“could use a”
Large a spacious for me. Could use a microwave and small fridge. It was very clean although I did see some tiny bugs in the bathroom on the upper floor room I stayed in during spring break that I didn't see in the lower floor room we stayed in summer of 2011. But I would stay again and again and again. I liked it.
“Our stay at the Jolly Roger”
This motel is a great place to stay when enjoying Disneyland. Our room was quiet, very clean, and parts of it were charmingly updated. The vanity/sink area in particular was very nice, and the towels were folded into cute little animals. However, there were no towel racks anywhere, which is a bit annoying when trying to figure out whose towel is whose. The modern, low flush but powerful, toilet wasn't securely fastened to the ceramic floor and it rocked and rumbled a bit. The beds were hard as brick, as were the pillows. I asked one of the maids for more pillows, and she was so friendly and accommodating and asked how many. I said three, and she brought a pile of 4 fluffy pillows, much better than the ones that were on the bed. That helped make the hard bed a bit more comfortable. There are no refrigerators in the rooms, so we asked to rent one for $10 a night. We were delivered the tiniest dorm-room refrigerator that exists, and it didn't fit much at all. But then they didn't charge us for it anyway. Parking is great here, and they let you park up until midnight on the day of check-out, so if you want to save the $$$ of parking at Disneyland, you can walk the half mile or so to the main entrance. And if you're just too exhausted after a day at the theme parks, there is a bus from the main gate to the motel. It usually costs $3 a ride, but we weren't charged at all. And you can buy multi-day passes for less. All in all, it's an older motel, but the price is right.
“Good Value”
This hotel is a bit of a walk to Disneyland. We usually stay closer to the park (directly across the street) but for the price we decided to give it a try. The staff was very friendly, we arrived late 11:15pm and were offered a choice of rooms - either a first floor room or we could have a room upstairs from the lobby. We chose the room upstairs from the lobby - it was huge. The furnishings were a bit dated, but the beds and pillows were comfortable and the room was very clean. It was a bit of a walk back to the hotel after a full Disney day so we opted for the ART most nights $3 per person which didn't break our budget. The distance to the park was the only thing we didn't like about this hotel, but for the price we paid, we would probably stay again.
“great get away”
very good service
“Not Bad...”
It has been around 3 years since we went to Jolly Roger Inn. I heard the rooms were good and newly constructed. But the only thing i noticed that changed was the TV, the sink, and maybe the bed's headboard. Other than that, it looks almost the same. The service was especially good, but for a room that should be prepared.....it's not. When we wanted to ask the front desk about something we needed through our room phone, it didn't work. It wasn't even connected. We had to call a maid to help us to ask maintenance to fix it. When it finally worked, we called to talk about the refrigerator that was supposedly to be in our room. 10 bucks for the entire vacation for a fridge. Took awhile to finally have someone bring the fridge, but the fridge looks just like the old one, but broken down and rusting. Also, on the first night of our stay, we found a bug right on the top of one of our beds. It was the first time we found a bug in our hotel room. I have been into hotels and motels that are much worse than this and I never found a bug in any of them. Also, they give a 30 dollar fee just to check out util 4 pm. The thing is that we had to because of our itinerary. Overall... the hotel is pretty okay, but it just need to do a little bit better.
“Disney Traveler”
Stayed at the Jolly Roger for four nights the first week of June. The hotel is an older motel style facility, similar to the others along Harbor Blvd. It wasn't that crowded, so noise was not a huge factor. Room was decent for what I payed. When we did have someone staying right above us, we could hear every footstep. I did nt see any roaches. A/C was a little noisy, but worked. The location to Disney isn't bad. If you are a reasonable walker, I clocked it at 13 minutes from the hotel lobby to the Disney bag check. There are places that are closer but the Jolly Roger had a price no other place could match. If you are traveling on a budget, consider the Jolly Roger if you can get past the shell of the restaurant. A note to management: Do something about the abandoned Jolly Roger Restaurant. After walking past it every day I can see how it significantly lowers the curb appeal of this place.
