“Great!”
Very clean and stylish inside. Staff is great. Room layout is for maximum privacy. Quiet. Beds and bathroom were clean. Lots of room in rooms.
“Fabulous option in this area!”
showing all signs of being part of the "W" family - well appointed, convenient, comfortable bed and nice amenities.
“Style Over Substance”
If you like modern architecture and interior design, and are on a budget, then the aloft may be your spot. The staff was friendly and acommodating and the environment easy on the eyes. The room was great looking and clean but featured: A toilet that ran non-stop, a sink-stopper that wasn't working, controls for the blinds that had been ripped out of the walls, and a single light fixture over the bathroom vanity that had been disabled due to a recall. This made the sink area unusably dark yet no alternate lighting was provided. Fortunately, I was able to fix the toilet and sink and the blind controls didn't affect their operation; just looked tacky. The other issue we had was with hotel serving as a local watering hole. Our second floor room, above the main entrance, took the brunt of boisterous drinkers as they stepped outside for a smoke or whatever. Solution: Get a room higher up, on the end, or one pool-side. The much-discussed shower "window"; is a non-issue. The window is out of sight on the far side of the room and is frosted. It will disappoint exhibitionists and only bother Puritans. My wife and I both liked how it dramatically lightened-up the beautiful walk-in shower with its tile/slate/glass construction. You'll also find a 42" flat-screen with inputs for iPods and DVD's and in-room iron/ironing board. Not my worst stay ever, but a first-class operation would have fixed the toilet and blind controls, and made some kind of accommodation for the light fixture.
“Not W Quality!!”
At first glance from the street and as you walk into the hotel it's all "W" quality. Staff was great and overall look and feel was right what I expected. However, when I got to the room things went downhill. The comforter was "lumpy", lights didn't work and one would think an IPod/iPhone compatible radio is not to much to ask for these days. The thing that really got me was the fact they simply folded my used towels to look like new replacements the second day. I know this because one was wet and stained from my toothpaste the previous day. What was even more challenging was the group of people at the pool from 2am to 4am talking loud as can be and carrying on with no care for anyone else. It's a small hotel so the sound expands as if they are right outside your window. A call to the front desk to ask them to simply move them inside did nothing. In my opinion this hotel stay was like putting lipstick on a pig.
“really great hotel!”
we'd definitely stay here again.
“Decent hotel needs improvements”
Being from the Starwood family of hotels, I guess I expected more. On our first night, there were sketchy individuals roaming the halls, drinking and making a lot of noise. The person at the front desk was somewhat understanding but not pleasant at all. As we stood waiting for the elevator back to our room, a LARGE cockroach ran across our path! The look of the hotel is cool, the location is ideal, and the rooms are comfortable. Unfortuanately, the overall experience of the hotel was not optimal.
“Not bad, could be better”
Had to stay in this area for work. A friend told me about this place and told me it was part of the W Hotel family, just a little cheaper. He was right, it had the same style but the actual furniture looked like ikea. It was clean, comfy and even had a pool party Sunday night. The bar and lounge area in the lobby was nice. There was also a pool table in the lobby which I loved except that when I played it was missing a pool stick and some of the balls were all chipped, that just made all the good stuff not as nice. I would recommend to a friend just hope they fix that ghetto pool table!
“Who needs a bed?”
There were three of us traveling and we booked to have two queen beds; they were out; put in a king room and given a blow up twin mattress. We had come in late and went to the room and blew up the mattress, showered etc. The mattress went flat within an hour. It was after midnight and we didn't want to deal with it so went ahead and had an uncomfortable night on the floor. Reported it to hotel staff the next morning at 9:00; they checked for another blow up mattress; one was available and staff would exchange it while we were gone. Arrived back at 5:30 and it had not been changed. Complained to the night crew who said there was nothing available; night manager said they could bring blankets in so we could sleep on the floor. Excuse: Expedia guests were not guaranteed a room type, the two queen rooms had been sold out for weeks and they didn't even guarantee a bed for the 3 people in our party. Went to the local store and purchased our own mattress and pump. Maintenance came and offered to try to repair the leak don't know if it worked. NO ICE MACHINES or vending - had to ask for ice in lobby Big, noisy party started setting up in lobby around 1:00 on Sunday afternoon until night. Could not utilize lobby area, pool table, computers, front desk because of the noise and crowd. Opaque wall in shower that showed into bedroom. Every bathroom noise could be heard throughout entire room. Not good for travel with kids or non-family! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!
“Worst experience”
This hotel had the worst staff and over pricd everything.
“wedding”
