"Birthday Vacation"
This hotel and it staff are fabulous. The location is perfect for walking through Old Montreal, for getting to the Metro system, bus tours and taxi's. Of course, taxi's will arrive at the hotel's main entrance. Restaurants and sightseeing ideas were expertly handled by the knowledgeable Concierges. Every morning hot coffee is available in the lobby area and in the afternoon, cold drinks are offered, both gratis. We enjoyed our Jr. Suite that had a nice living room with a gas fireplace. The fireplace can be used without the heat feature and one can just enjoy the ambience of a fireplace. The desk area was perfect for using the stationary provided and for writing my purchased post cards. A nice table and chair area was great for sipping Champagne. The Jacuzzi in the HUGE bathroom was awesome as was the separate shower. We never needed for hot water no matter how much I filled the tub. We ate brunch in the dining room downstairs. One night (beautiful lighting in the dining room and bar area), we just went there for drinks. Pretty place, good food, great coffee and drinks. The valet parking was perfect. We didn't need our car for the entire stay as the location of the hotel is perfect. Everyone was so gracious at this hotel. Even though we do not speak French (only English), their main goal was to make certain that our stay at their hotel was perfect, and it was.

"A definite RECOMMEND"
If you're planning on staying in Old Montreal, Hotel Nelligan should be at the top of your list. It's located right in the heart of the old city. The staff are extremely helpful and courteous, the hotel is very chic and the rooms are very well appointed with the most comfortable beds imaginable! While there are many, many restaurants to choose from in the city, you don't need to step further than the restaurant in the hotel. The menu was varied, the wine list extensive with some very good wines reasonably priced, and the service was impeccable. Tip: ask for the table in the corner window - it's great for people watching.

"Great Stay in Montreal"
We celebrated our anniversary in Montreal. 3 nights at Auberge du Vieux Port. It was fabulous. The rooms are clean and simple with an old rustic charm. No awful floral prints or dated furnishings. There was a great shower and bed was super comfortable. The only negative was the trains that went by very early in the mornings. I would still stay here again. The concierge was wonderful, offering friendly greetings and helpful tips on things to see and do as well as places to eat. If we return to Montreal, this is where we will stay.

"True Boutique Hotel in Old Montreal"
I travel quite a lot and I'm always looking for great boutique hotels. Larger hotels are fine but I really prefer the privacy of smaller locations. I looked for many hotels while preparing for my trip to Montreal and this caught my attention because it only had 30 rooms. From the moment we checked in to the time we left the entire staff were always helpful, friendly and professional. The staff made you feel at home and seemed to really be happy to be working there. The only problem we had was a consistently annoying ticking sound coming from within the walls in room 330. The manager eventually upgraded us to a corner suite on the top floor with an amazing patio. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this area. You won't be disappointed with the elevated service that is offered.

"The hotel is adorable and in a great part of town!"
Overall it was great. The staff was very nice and attentive, the hotel is beautiful and well equipped and you just can't beat the location, right down the street from Notre Dame and near lots of great bars and restaurants. Of course the L'Octaine in the rooms doesn't hurt! I would highly recommend this place -- only downside was the strong perfume-like smell in the lobby, but I found this at a number of places in Montreal.
