Big cheap room

Posted 22-Jul-2014
It's not fancy, and it's a bit old, but the rooms are big and clean and the price was good.

Good for a quick stopover.

Posted 21-Jul-2014
Pros: Pool and cold A/C.
Cons: Beds/pullouts need to be better.
We needed a room to stop at between Calgary and Vancouver Island. We chose this property based on price... weekends in summer can be expensive. The staff are great! The room was basic and ageing but clean. The A/C was cold (and it was 39c that day)! The bed was acceptable in comfort but the pullout was TINY and uncomfortable. The pool is small and was crowded due to a ball team staying there but nice for a quick dip! Overall we were satisfied with what we needed for the night but will likely try another property next time.

Really helpfull and friendly staff.

Posted 20-Jul-2014
Pros: The staff, rooms in the main building and the grounds.
Cons: I would totally gut and Reno the second building. Or tare it down.
Location: Walked to Moxis and the Parkinson Rec Center.
The first night we had 2 queen size beds and a very nice clean room in the first building. Outside the room was a nice grassed area with picnic tables a BBQ and a nice pool. The second night we had to move to a different room ( our own fault, we only booked 1 night ) we were moved to the second building. It was very dated, stained carpets and couch. It also must have been a smoking room for years and now are trying to cover the smell with fragrance. The staff was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. I would only stay again if I could book in their main building. Walking distance to restaurants and the Parkinson's Rec Center. Overall a good visit.

Don't stay in the Summer....

Posted 18-Jul-2014
A/C Units do not work. They blow a tiny bit of air, less than your average house fan would do. The room was SO uncomfortable & hot we couldn't stand it. This being July 16th in 40 degree weather. Our room had a patio door that didn't close or lock. So that was even worse. Of course there is nobody at the front desk at night, not that they would have been helpful. Very unfriendly staff on check in/out. They obviously know the hotel sucks and they don't even bother to ask you how your stay was, because they already know. For a room rate of $109 this is really bad. Pay the extra 30$ for the Sandman or something

Great economic stay

Posted 16-Jul-2014
Location: Downtown Kelowna, the beach, the recreation centre were all within a five minute drive.
The room was clean overall, except a garbage can that had not been emptied. The carpet has seen better days, but was clean. It's a central location with a nice little pool to cool off on those hot days. Staff was more than accommodating and went the extra mile. For a 2 star hotel, this was a great experience.

Basic motel, in a good location for families.

Posted 15-Jul-2014
Pros: Staff, location, service.
Cons: I would suggest something other thank toast for the breakfast -a muffin or danish for example.
Location: Across the street from a playground and an Ihop restaurant, and a 5 minute drive from a huge family park with a beach, spray park, skate park.
This motel was good for us as a family with small children. The motel is across the street from a playground and an Ihop restaurant and a 5 minute drive from a huge family park with a beach, spray park, skate park and more. There was also a small organic market within walking distance. We thought the room was basic, but clean. We received a free continental breakfast that included a piece of toast with a packet of peanut butter, a juice box, yogurt, an orange, a box of cereal and an individual sized milk - delivered to our room! Friendly staff as well.

Great hotel for the price.

Posted 10-Jul-2014
Pros: Location just off of Highway, 5 minute drive to the beach, room size was exceptional.
Cons: Had to tell housekeeping to empty garbages, but they were exceptionally friendly and courteous.
The outside is in need of upkeep, but that's just cosmetic. We were expecting the worst, but got just what we needed. 10 and 11 year old got their own sleeping area (the main living area) with A/C, we got our own room (No A/C). Suite had a kitchenette as well. Salt water outdoor swimming pool was enjoyed by the kids. Hot tub was filled with soil and plants.

Not the same as shown on website, room is smelly

Posted 9-Jul-2014
Pros: The staff is very friendly
Cons: should provide clean towel, ventilation fan shouldn't be that loud. Kitchen appliances like electric stove should be replaced. Get rid of bad smell.
Location: The location is quite good, a lot of shopping centre and a lot of choices for food. Really like the location
Door couldn't locked properly, room is smelly when we entered the room the first time. Towel is not clean, have a lot of spot on the towel that couldn't washed off. The room is very different from what it showed on the website. Washroom is very old, the ventilation fan is very loud. I would not recommend this place to anybody. The electric stove need an hour to boil water.

Never book a room , They cancel the reservation

Posted 7-Jul-2014
Booked through Expedia, one night, confirmation papers printed from my computer, three days later the staff member from the Inn called and cancelled my reservation. No explanation other than I booked through Expedia and not on their system, which was funny to me because if I wasn't on their system how did they have my number?? Anyways, booked into different room in Kelowna at 1:40 am I receive a call from staff at Rec Inn so see if I was coming to accept the booking, I went to that office talked to manager about never coming back, we both agreed !!!

Bad experience.

Posted 4-Jul-2014
Cons: If a guest is paying for a non-smoking room then that is what they should get. A room that does not have a heavy, stale smoke odor.
We booked this room for our daughter's maid of honour. About an hour after paying we received a message saying that we would be charged damages because someone had smoked in the room. Contacted the non-smoking maid of honour. She had not had any guests but her son had complained about the bad smell in the room. We went back to the hotel to dispute their claim. We were informed that "It was our mistake. We had the wrong room." Very poor customer service if it's okay to accuse a customer by phone message and then not correct that when they have realized their error.
