A Bargain Motel That Tries Hard

Posted 21-May-2015
We stayed here last week for two days while the house we were renting became available. It was clean and convenient. The staff were very helpful especially the lovely, young woman who was in charge of the breakfast. The coffee was hot, there were options and all was done with a smile. She is a definite plus to the motel. This is not a fancy place and that is reflected in the price. But it has everything you need for a short stay. Looking out on to the parking lot required us to keep the curtains closed. The second floor would have eliminated this problem. Good value - pleasant people.

The staff make the difference.

Posted 21-May-2015
Pros: The staff.
Cons: This is a motel, do not set your standards on a 5 star joint. It is not that. It is however a great place to stay on the cheap.
This motel is a simple place to stay, but the staff here make all the difference in the world. They care and respect the guests, and it shows in their attitude. They engage in conversation, and care about the success of your trip. They go out of their way to help you find things in town (boat rentals etc).

Staff were great

Posted 20-May-2015
Pros: Breakfast was included and was adequate. The lady running it was excellent. The pool and barbecue looked to be enjoyed by the other guests
Cons: New bathroom sink and paint would go a long way to making it look better
Staff were all great - very helpful and pleasant. There were some party people staying and it was noisy outside with their coming and going but found leaving the air conditioner on helped. The bed was comfortable, The bathroom sink looked old and worn. Not too sure about the window security. I was in town for a surgery and it was only about 12 min from KGH

A PLEASANT STAY;

Posted 13-May-2015
Pros: simple, quiet and clean.
Cons: giving back the deposits ( from credit cards ) immediately upon check out. most of the time it takes 3-5 days to a week before you get back the depos
Location: very close to almost everything.
This hotel is nice, clean and quiet. The front desk people are courteous, accommodating, made suggestions and gives brief hotel's infos.

Most pleasant staff ever!

Posted 7-May-2015
Pros: The staff. The owner definitely knows how to hire the most amazing employees. Every single staff membe we encountered during our one-week was amazing.
Cons: Suggestions to the owner: improve the stocking of the kitchen, buy some new ironing boards, and add "real" honey and herbal tea to the breakfast.
Location: We were there on work-related business and didn't pay attention to the fun things around. ;)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Recreation Inn & Suites. The staff are pleasant and extremely helpful and go out of their way to be accommodating. The only issues with our stay could not be improved by the staff but only by the owners. We stayed in the suite with the kitchenette and extra bedroom. The room was clean and pleasant but the kitchen was terribly under-stocked and includes only 4 glasses, 4 plates, 4 forks, 4 large spoons, 4 butter knives, a medium sized pot and a frying pan. We were able to receive two sharp knives upon request. We had requested an ironing board and playpen when we booked but these were not ready for us upon arrival so we had to call in to request again. The ironing board was an ancient one--basically a cloth-covered plank of wood that propped two inches above the ground on broken pegs. (Dear owner: a huge improvement of a modern ironing board can be purchased at a thrift store for about $5-10.) The continental breakfast was monitored by incredibly sweet and helpful staff. However, there was no herbal tea available and the provided honey was actually "honey flavoured syrup." The staff was apologetic.

Thank you for sharing your comments with us. I want to assure you that your comments are not falling on deaf ears. We have been trying to take in the feedback we have been receiving to better determine what people want to see included in the kitchen units and in the continental breakfast. Our staff truly are amazing and I do apologize that the ironing board and play pen were not ready for you upon arrival. I am glad however that our staff was able to make sure that you did receive everything you needed and that you enjoyed your stay. Your comments will be taken into consideration as we move forward with updates and improvements to our services. Again, Thank you!

Visit To kelowna

Posted 29-Apr-2015
Pros: The proximity to interests and srevices
Cons: Pull out those dirty rugs. Bare floors are healthier.
Location: there are walking paths, swimming pool, tennis court, great restaurants and shopping, etc.
The hotel was in a good area to access interests and main roads. The staff were polite and helpful. The dissapointment was in the dirty floor in our room. it was light rug and very dirty, and there were zillions of tiny, tiny ants in it. We did not even feel comfortable letting the little dog stay on the floor. Rugs need to be removed, for hygien, then would be more pleasing.

No Frills--but clean and roomy.

We have stayed at this hotel twice and have been pleasantly surprised both times. It is old and definitely not fancy, but it can fit our whole family (6 people), and is clean and the staff is very helpful and courteous. And the price is always right. Will probably stay there again.

Thank you for this feedback. We know we are not the fanciest, most updated hotel in town, but we make it our mission not to let that compromise the quality or the value we offer our guests. We work hard to ensure that all of our guests are happy, satisfied, and get the most out of their time with us. I am glad that we are able to continue to "pleasantly surprise" you and your family and I do hope that we will continue to see you when you come to Kelowna.
