“too expensive stay elsewhere, but go there for dinner/lunch”

I understand you are paying for location, but I expected a pretty nice room. it was dated and lacked comfort. Bed no comforatable, which is odd for a hotel charging what they charged. all of that said, the staff, service was wonderful. room was clean. the resturants were fantastic. next time (only due to cost) would stay elsewhere but dine at the hotel. the view was georgous and the food was excellent. all good.

“NIce Weekend Retreat”

Hotel is clean and confortable, but needs updating in decor in some areas to bring it up to date. Too bad the weather is not warm enough to enjoy the outdoor dining area; but will come back in summer time.

“Might try it again for wine tour special”

Our room was adequate, but for the price I thought it was rather small. The origanal reservation was for four ladies--we could have used a little more space. Bathroom had been updated quite nicely and was very clean, lots of towels and counter space. We also had a balcony that faced east giving us a lovely view of the lake and the far side of the lake towards Summerland. Restaurant was good and right onthe water. Staff very friendly.

“Disappointed”

We were really disappointed with the quality of the hotel - we expected more. It was so cold in the corridors that you needed to wear a coat to go to the vending/ice machine. We had the heat in our room on high the entire time we were there. We don't mind a chip or two in the ceramic tile but there were so many in the bathroom floor that it always looked dirty. Might as well stay in the Days Inn next time - same quality but a lot cheaper.

“Keep looking”

Unless you have to stay, find another place. You have to call the front desk to change the room temperature and it takes 30 mins for it to take effect. Everything else is ok to fair. Would never stay there again for what they charge you can find something better.

“Not impressed.”

We paid a premium price for "lake view" which ended up being a view of a roof top and a noisy restuarant below it. The hotel caters to weekenders and they do nothing to encourage any more than that. The washroom smelled poorly-likely from the shower curtain. The shower fixtures were old and stained. We checked in late in the evening, tired after a full day of driving. It took over 1/2 hour to get room service to answer the phone. We called the front desk who weren't any help. When we finally got through, they couldn't guarentee our order because " we might be out". When I asked what they did have, the response was "don't you have a menu?" This hotel was not worth what we paid for it. We will not be returning.

“Update the Air conditioning”

We found some of the front desk staff not helpful. They insisted that I pre authorize and sign for a $50.00 per day "security fee" just in case we bolted and had blown through our credit card limit in the casino. i stay in hotels all over the world an average of 75 room nights per year, and I have never been asked to sign and pre authorized a daily pmt fee...at any hotel ..anywhere! My major beef with the hotel is the air conditioners in the rooms. The AC unit is either totally off, which means NO air at all or full blast EXTREMELY COLD air. So the room was either totally stagnant or absolutely freezing! i have mentioned this to hotel staff for the past several years and my comment is always met with a look of disbelief from the hotel staff. This is particularly unfortunate for all of the Ironman athletes who fill up the hotel during the last week of August every year. These athletes have trained for months preparing for the event and I am certain the the "Artic wind" that blows upon them as the try to sleep prior the the race has most certainly caused a significant amount of discomfort and illness. Incidentally, we have been in Penticton for the ironman and have stayed at the Penticton Lakeside for 13 of the last 14 years. This yeas we stayed at the hotel for three nights the week prior to Ironman week. This time we bought a fan from the local hardware store and shut the Air Conditioner off!

“A disappointing stay in Penticton”

The room was rather shabby; the tile floor in the bathroom was chipped and the carpet was worn. As well, a pair of underwear belonging to a gentlemen who had stayed in the room before us was on the floor. The room was quite small. The door to the balcony was very difficult to open and close. Noise from the hallway was an issue as well. However, the public areas were much better.
