“VIEW FROM MY ROOM AT SILVER SEAS!!!”
had an amazing time at this hotel. the view from my bed was amazing. Waking up to open the curtains and look at this ocean was awesome. The room is huge. the is always hot water. the room was cleaned everyday. The food was great. always freshly prepared and worth the wait. Front desk staff always pleasant and helpfull. The fact that I did not have to hunt search for someone to take me to a site and the club was a bonus. The bar was cozy and the drinks hit the spot all the time. The hotel is a stone throw from the town where you can get the typical Jamaican atmosphere without having to drive and the possibilities of many local dishes. I love, love, love Silver Seas. The view when you enter the lobby is frist class top of the line beautiful with the ocean spreading out before you. I say if you are looking for economical and beautiful and a gurantee ocean view room stay here. Only if u want to swim and feel the sand between your toes just take a trip to the fall or another beach. My husband and I plan to visit this great hotel again.
“I will always go back!”
This is the 16th time I have stayed at the Silver Seas. There is always some small problems with things in the room, but it is also not listed as a 5 star. The rooms are always clean and the staff is always friendly. All the rooms overlook the ocean and there is a reef within swimming diatance - if you are a good swimmer. If you want a big crowd this is not the place for you. But if you want to snorkel, sit on your baclony relax, try a different resturant every night within walking distance, truly meet the Jamaicians, I recommend the Silver Seas.
“Can't wait to go back!”
Our experience at Silver Seas was wonderful. It was not a 5 star hotel but we did not book a 5 star. We wanted the real Jamaica and this was the perfect place-clean and friendly-the staff was great. We loved walking to the local shops and the market place and meeting Jamaicans from all walks of life. This was our 3rd visit to Jamaica and we plan to return to Silver Sea next year. We stayed in an ocean front room (all rooms at Silver Seas are ocean front) with amazing views-the blue Caribbean in the front and the mountains in the back. . The food at the hotel was good but even better was the tiny Jamaican restaurant hidden away across the street-ackee, rice and peas, peanut porridge, Jamaican fruits. Cannot wait to go back!
“Low key, old jamaica”
this hotel was built in 1948& 1953 as such it is reminiscent of a bygone era, this is NOT a luxury hotel. take your own towel since they pick up the used ones in the morning and return them clean in the evening. the staff is nice and responsive to your needs. it is low key. if you just want to relax with no pressure to "have fun" this is a good place. though fun is always available. Enjoy
“3rd time look foward to 4th”
it's an old art deco in need of some work but it's got great people, good location & an outstanding snorkeling reef 50 yds out. i will be back
“beautiful, secluded, can't wait to visit again”
Set back 100m from the main road, with lush grounds, your room (patio ground floor, balcony upper floors) is a gentle stone's throw from the ocean. The hotel is on the ocean, not near, within sight of, or nearby, but right next to the ocean. Staff are typically laid back Jamaican but very friendly and helpful, rooms clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, we felt like we were in an Ernest Hemingway novel. The beach private, secluded and clean. Ample optional activities are available. Genuine Jamaican foods and shopping within easy walking distance and at reasonable prices. The hotel restaurant is ho-hum, but ample local restaurants nearby, try Winston's Fast Foods, a small diner located at the western entrance to the main vendor's market. Good authentic Jamaican food, cheap. Ample nearby clubs for the partying crowd. We loved the seclusion and privacy, and the hotel is very quiet. Dunn's River's falls, a 10 minute drive away, is a must see, set aside a day and bring your watershoes, beach towel, and picnic lunch. Overall the hotel is a real gem that we will be visiting again.
“very satisfied”
excellent view of the ocean and with the private beach and balcony view is excellent.
“Impressed”
The staff was priceless, always willing to go the extra mile for us. Always had a smile, and desire to help. The hotel is clean, the rooms large, the view awesome. The american who owns it needs to reinvest into it. The beds, pillows, and towels need updated. A little paint would be good too. Not a good place if you go to hang out in your room. If you want a clean bed, a warm shower and ac to sleep with before the next adventure this is it. I will stay here again!
“This was a great place to stay. The hotel staff looked after me like I was their own daughter!”
I was scared at first to be traveling alone to a different country, but the hotel staff really kept a close watch on me and made my safty their priority. Helpful tips: Don't exchange any more than 40 American dollars to Jamaican currancy! Everyone wants American money there. Also, when going to he hotel from the airport, DO NOT take a taxi! Taxis cost 100 US dollars! Take a tour bus for only 20 US dollars!
“Can't wait to go back”
Good hotel for the price of US motel! Do not expect fancy resort, but you will get clean, nice room, direct at ocean, viewing palm trees and warm, peaceful water. Two weeks we stayed was two short, but that is life ....
