Didnt like the hotel at all, dirty, old and uncomfortable.

“Rundown on 15th Street”

The hotel was very unkept and dirty. There were 2 windows facing the ocean and only 1 had a screen. Could see the room next door from the vent in the shower. Walls were PAPER thin--could hear conversations next door. People at desk were very friendly and helpful.

“not at all impressed”

the room was tiny the bed was very uncomfortable we had to ask for what we usually get at other hotels as a common practice soap,shampoo etc I would not recommend this hotel to a friend

“NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!”

This hotel is not a nice place to stay. The rate was unbeatable which is the only reason we booked this hotel. The cheap rate could not outweigh how horrible this hotel was. The floor of my room was so slanted it felt as though I was walking up a hill to get to the door. The TV was circa 1984 with a remote that worked "sometimes". It was not very warm yet (April) in OC yet the Air Conditioner could not keep the room cool. This may have also been due to the fact that the AC install was so shotty they daylight could be seen around the AC unit. They do not offer individual soap and/or shampoo; they have pump dispensers located over the sink and in the shower. The shower door in our particular room was off the track and could not be closed properly. If you are simply looking for a "place to crash" for a night then this place would serve that purpose. If you want anything more from a hotel, look somewhere else.

“Not a great experience”

I considered whether I should even write this review since it wasn't going to be positive. First of all, when we arrived and went to our room, it had not been cleaned that day. We got another room, but no ocean view rooms were left. The room wasn't very clean, I would know because the first job I had was housekeeping for a summer. The rug looked like hadn't been cleaned in a couple of years. I actually checked for bedbugs! Didn't find any. And the bathroom shower stall was coming apart. It was difficult to get hot water, had to let shower run for about 10 min to get any. The room looks like it had been renovated a little, but not enough. And the beds were hard as a rock! I couldn't sleep and thought about sleeping in the car, but thought the police my come by and say something. There were only 2 empty outlets- one be mini fridge and one in bathroom. We had to take turns charging out phones. The TV looked to be about 30 yrs old, which is fine with me, it worked. The good things were amazing location right in middle of boardwalk, a nice big porch to sit on in front of sea, friendly staff, nice size pool, historical. This is big rambling historical hotel, stands out among the big chain hotels. It could be great, but needs a lot renovating and work done. It is 2 star hotel, but could a 4 star.
