“Excellenet Stay!”
This hotel is so charming. The courtyard is beautiful and serene. The room was comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our first room had an odor after we turned on the air conditioner. It was late at night so we told the front desk in the morning. They checked it out and when we returned after touring around the city. They helped us move all of our belongings to another room. They apologized and told us they were investigating the problem. Our next room was great. They are so extremely accomodating. Also, breakfast was included and it was a feast and really delicious. My husband and I will definitely go back.
“The is a wonderful hotel.”
The hotel is close to everything...has great food, and the room is very clean and nice. The room is a bit small, but that is the only thing I would say bad about the hotel.
“Loved this hotel”
The staff were extremely helpful and warm. Very small, quiet hotel, located within one block of the Zocolo but still very quiet. Delicious breakfast included in room rate. I'm almost reluctant to post this review because I don't want the hotel to be oversold if I go back!
“One for the books!”
This new hotel is not yet in books about Oaxaca, but it should be. Small, well maintained, pleasant staff, and good location for exploring the center of the city.
“A real taste of the culture of Oaxaca”
This is a very special hotel with a real feel of the culture of Oaxaca. It is in the central zone close to the Zocalo yet fairly quiet and quite clean. The hotel has two inner courtyards which are serene and comfortable with a genuine Spanish ambience. The restaurant is very good and I thoroughly enjoyed easting a quiet breakfast there before going to my Spanish lessons. The staff was warm and very personable. They were most helpful and very kind in every way. It you enjoy local flavor and getting away from big corporate hotels this one may be what you are looking for.
“Nice and well located hotel”
This is a nice hotel well located in Oaxaca´s historic downtown. It is at walking distance of most of the interesting places on the city. The staff is very friendly and make you feel really comfortable. The only thing I did not like is that they send you to a public parking lot which is at one and a half blocks from the hotel.
“Very Good Service and Excellent Food!!!”
It is a comfortable hotel, very good service, very good location a few blocks from the central plaza.
“a room without a view”
I booked this hotel due to good reviews and the pictures- seemingly nice room, great-looking roof-top patio (with a view), nice bar/restaurant. I did not find most of these things on arrival. I was taken to a very small windowless room- which fortunately, I did not have to stay in thanks to a kind staff member who asked his supervisor to upgrade my room, without charging me the difference in the price of my room- which would have paid for a nice room somewhere else. I was asked to pay this initially. So, there was no rooftop patio- it was under repair. There was no bar. The room I was changed to was clean but very stuffy and dark and hot. (Either the AC didn't work or I couldn't get it to work- the former, I think is true) At night one can hear noise- thumping bass- from discos near-by. I didn't try out their restaurant, so I can't comment on the food quality. This hotel has an uncomfortable closing-in on you feeling. Not a good place to relax or get any work done. There are far nicer and far less expensive places to stay in Oaxaca City.
“well located”
a little nice boutique hotel well located.
“Can't judge a hotel by its lobby”
Initial impression was positive: lobby nicely appointed and people at the reception desk efficient and helpful. However, this is not a comfortable place to stay. Our room had no windows; noon or midnight, it was all the same in our room. An air cooler cooled but did not dehumidify making the room damp and stuffy. The shower was in a corner of the bathroom and drained onto the floor. There was no "sitting" room in the hotel where one could read or enjoy the ambiance; given the room situation, this would have been useful. I would not go back.
