“Love it!”
We preferred room in the older part of the hotel but not all rooms are alike, so take a look of you don't love your room. The staff couldn't be more accommodating. So charming and lovely there!
“Clear day at the Claremont”
Eucalyptus trees on the hill behind the hotel: palm trees in front with a view of San Francisco across the bay. Can't beat the vista.
“Gem in Berkeley”
We will return for another, longer visit to this historic and beautiful hotel.
“Truly Elegant Place - like stepping back in time”
Truly wonderful place. Antiques and memorabelia fill the hotel. Room was spacious, beds comfortable, bathroom was spotless. Employees were very friendly and helpful. The gym and exercise facility were top notch with numerous classes available which were included in the resort fee. Exquisite grounds and great view of the bay when it was clear.
“Excellent”
I loved having access to the two heated outdoor pools, the lobby and piano, the relaxed but attentive service and the beautiful location.
“Legendary hotel.”
Exceptional service, beautiful vintage hotel but kept in top condition with helpful staff, first rate spa, pool and health club. Amazing views. Good dining too.
“Always a pleasure”
I've stayed at the Claremont at least 10 times in the last several years and I always have a pleasant stay. The decorations for Christmas this year are beautiful and make the hotel feel even cozier. The giant gingerbread house in the lobby and the fake snow coming down are magical.
“The only place in Berkeley”
We had a party of six including two small chilldren. My only complaint is our two rooms were very far apart.
“Wonderful stay”
Absolutely loved this hotel...from its fabulously luxurious beds to its giant jetted bathtubs. Gorgeous views and super friendly staff.
“A classic - in California”
I love the Claremont for its old school charm and its slightly funky layout. But don't think this place isn't first class. It is in every way. It's so nice to get away from the cookie cutter chains and get to something real and timeless. Absolutely great spa and health club comes with the deal. You can't beat it if you are wanting to stay anywhere near the area.
