“Very nice Hotel”
This Hotel is in China Town, 5 minutes from the airport, about 15 minutes from Berkely. The staff was excellent. Everything was very nice.

“Comfortable beds”
I stayed in Marriott hotel for a convention. The bed was really comfortable , the rooms were spacious and the best part of it. It was inexpensive. Every morning I found the daily newspaper infornt of the door.
“Nice place to stay”
This hotel was very comfortable, including fluffy pillows and comforters. Women will particularly appreciate the soaps and lotion offered. Close to BART connections. The only complaint I have is the cost of overnight parking was outrageous with no offer of validation and the neighboring streets do not have convenient parking and probably aren't that safe a place to leave your car.
“Great Oakland Hotel”
The hotel was great. The tub was a little dirty but was cleaned completely very fast. The room was one of the new updated rooms...even smelled new. We loved the hotel. The big problem was parking. What they don't tell you is that self parking is about $20 a day and valet even more than that. Would have liked to have known this up front.

Excellent in every way. The Marriott Courtward across the street is said to be equally nice at 65% of the cost.
“Oakland weekend.”
We stayed 3 nights to attend a wedding. We lucked out with the weather (nothing the hotel could control). We were on the 14th floor and the views were fantastic. The location is downtown Oakland so you're not far from anything. We went up Piedmont to Fenton's and down to 4th Street in Berkeley all on the same day. Jack London square is also close by. Staff was great. Walking the neighborhood is a mixed bag. Chinatown is just around the corner but there are also quite a few homeless around in the late and early hours of the day. There are a few closed and boarded up storefronts, a sign of the times. Yet, the streets are clean. One complaint is charging for internet access in the room; you'd think it would be free as other chains supply it as an enticement.
