“A great weekend”

Great location near UC campus and just 1 mile from our destination. Close to dining and Bart station. Service at hotel was escellent. They couldnn't have been more helpful.

“Enchanting corner of Berkeley”

The Durant is an exquisite jewel--charming and cozy with big city amenities. We appreciated the customized university-themed decor--so much more appealing than the corporate design of chain hotels. The hotel is thoughtfully green, from the cornstarch-based bottles of herbal shampoo to the in-room recycling bin to the operable windows that open to beautiful glimpses of treetops and the Bay. Hotel staff were accommodating, friendly, and meticulously professional. The location was perfect--easy parking in the hotel's lot--so we walked all over town. Highly recommended.

“Great hotel for visiting UC”

My daughter had orientation at the UC, and we stayed at this hotel. The service was great and very accomadating. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the flat screen t.v. with DVD player kept the two 9 yr olds busy. The walk to the UC was quick and easy about two blocks. The choice for the 9yr olds dinners (price and variety) was short walk to UC or top dogs down the street. The couch bed was not quite as comfortable as the bed or roll away bed, but what a great deal and the positive work hard energy the staff had was well worth the stay.

“Exactly what I was looking for”

I stayed at the Hotel Durant for one night during an apartment hunting trip to Berkeley. The location was great (just a couple blocks from campus) and the staff was unbelievably helpful. I had flown in from overseas just a couple of days earlier and was horribly jetlagged, so they let me check into my room a few hours early. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The restaurant downstairs was convenient for a relatively early breakfast. Overall, only good things to report - I recommend!

“Top quailty hotel in Berkeley”

I have booked a double bedroom in the executive floor which the room was decent size the bathroom was modern. The breakfast in the lounge has mainly cereal and toast , the check in and checkout was speedy and efficient

“we would stay again”

We stayed at the Hotel Durant for 3 nights on a recent pleasure trip and we would definitely stay there again. It is 1 block from the Berkeley campus which was our main destination. We judge our hotels on the "three Cs":cleanliness, convenience and cost and this hotel met our expectations just fine for the money. The dining venue, Henry's, was also good but a little pricey as most hotels are. However the surrounding city blocks are packed with any type of international or american cuisine and very inexpensive. We relied on BART for our transportation and the nearest station is a brisk 15 minute speedwalk; so if that is too far you will probably need to learn the bus routes.
