“Oaktown”
Loved the area, & will be staying there again in the future. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
“Functional and Inexpensive”
Rooms are clean and functional, with kitchenette. Don't expect maid service every day, but you can get fresh towels and linens yourself whenever you need them, and there is a laundry room in the building for your own use. They keep the cost down without sacrificing much in the way of service.

Hotel is clean and roomy. Well maintain. I would recommend to family and friends.

Near everything that was needed. My Mom had surgery & I was not far from the hospital. Try Baystreet, lots of shopping & places to eat in the area.

“Comfortable hotel and convenient location for the Amtrak”
The Extended stay is a chain of hotels geared towards longer stays (by providing more amenities like kitchens and reducing the usually fairly intrusive daily cleaning service). We stayed at the Emeryville one for 4 nights and it was quite comfortable. First impression was not good: Our room hadn't been cleaned for arrival and we had to wait about 45 minutes for them to make it ready and finish cleaning it for us. But otherwise the hotel was fine. Adequate parking and quite helpful reception staff/concierge. Location was convenient for us as we were scheduled to take the Amtrak California Zephyr and it's only a 5 minute taxi ride from the ESA. The hotel was easy to get to by car but the nearby interchange is a bit wierd and it took us a little while to find the onramp which isn't very near the ESA. Location was less good for other public transport once we'd handed back our rental as it was quite far from the nearest BART (MacArthur) and the local busses aren't too great.
“Over-all Great”
Our Check-in was great but when check-out no employee around...4 people were waiting for a employee to help out but noone was around, even security guard went looking for employee. Waited for about 30 minutes to locate employee. Overall great stay, but wish employee's were around to help out more.
“Cheaper than most so you get what you pay for”
Before booking, I'd read other reviews claiming the Extended Stay in Emeryville was mediocre at best. My expectations therefore weren't very high and sadly my experience was more of the same. Room was pretty good but there were no extra pillows available and the receptionist NEVER got back to me on something that required 'research'. The local area isn't the best but I was still surprised at the stench of marijuana near the lobby entrance. Medicinal users perhaps? Only upside is the rates there are much lower than other close options. Clear case of getting what you pay for.
“Nice stay”
The hotel is clean and nice. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful. Hotel location was convenient. Two problems...1.the mattress was hard and squeaked every time I moved and 2. hotel security system kept going down at night which made it difficult to enter the hotel after 11p. This also caused my room key to need reactivating every night we returned. Beside these two issues, I recommend you stay here.
