hotel advantages, close to beach and shopsPosted 14-Apr-2014
Pros: convenience to all necessities
Cons: hotel guest should have just one access to wifi during stay.changing password everyday is annoying especially when you have to line-up in the counter
Location: walking distance to the beach, shops, and restaurants
nice and cheaper hotel since you're not staying in. you're in this place to see hawaii so this hotel can save you. walking distance to waikiki beach, strip mall, and restaurants.

Reasonable hotel one short block to Waikiki BeachPosted 14-Apr-2014
The Waikiki Resort is a pleasant hotel one block from the beach. Budget travelers cannot go wrong. Nice hotel with friendly staff. Easy in and out for parking--unlike the mega resorts.

Great Location But Needs Some ChangesPosted 12-Apr-2014
Pros: I liked the location to the beach and buses. I liked the lobby, it was pretty and inviting. The price was good too.
Cons: More mirrors in the room. Better lighting in the bathroom area. New carpets. Better internet system. Better beach towel system.
Location: Great location. 2 minutes walk to the beach! Restaurants and entertainment all around, all directions.
We stayed at the Waikiki Resort for 5 nights. The location is awesome. A 2 minute walk to the beach. Staff are pretty friendly and helpful. There was free wifi in the lobby but you had to get a code each day from the front desk. I found that annoying. And if you wanted wifi in your room, you had to go the front desk each day and sign a paper to get the code. The rooms could use some updating and more mirrors! There was only one mirror in the whole room and it wasn't full length. Women like to see their whole outfit, right?! We had a fridge and microwave and sink in our room which was great. Allowed us to eat breakfast every morning in the room and store our leftovers for mid day snacks. You have to go down to the basement to get beach towels which is a bit annoying. The staff were all friendly though. This hotel should not be called "Resort". I have no idea why they call it that.

Cozy hotel close to Kuhio beach parkPosted 11-Apr-2014
Although the decor has certainly seen better days, I feel this hotel provides excellent value and great location close to many restaurants, beach and parking garages. Hotel even offers beach towels free of charge.

Good Hotel that is a block from the beachPosted 10-Apr-2014
Pros: Good price and service at the hotel.
Cons: Needs free Wifi in the rooms. Have to go down to lobby to get the Wifi which makes it so you can not sit on the lanai and get on line.
Location: Good location in Waikiki.
The people at the hotel are friendly and the rooms are clean. We had an ocean view room which had a good view of Waikiki beach and you could see Diamond Head. Good price for the ocean view room. Did not have free wifi in the room so had to go to lobby to be able to get on line.

Good location, but in need of refurbishingPosted 9-Apr-2014
Cons: Refurbish the rooms!
Location: Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Easy access to the beach.
The location was very good; within easy walking distance to beach, shops, and restaurants. The room was clean, but in need of refurbishing: curtain was torn, the sliding door rattled, there was a lot of street noise, and the sink was old and cracked.

This hotel is very nice. Comforting, relaxing and very clean. It is walking distance to a lot of restaurants, bars and stores. But most importantly, The Beach

Good location but needs some TLC!Posted 7-Apr-2014
Pros: The foyer was pleasant and the staff were friendly and helpful. The 24hr reception was also a plus.
Cons: The carpet and bathrooms need to be updated, they are past their used by date. Also the pool area was very uninviting.
Location: Great location. Everything is in easy walking distance, shops, restaurants and most importantly the beach.
The location is this hotels biggest selling point, in the heart of Waikiki and minutes to everything it has to offer. I was disappointed in the size and condition of the rooms. The bathroom in particular was very tired and needed real attention. We had a room on the 7th floor and still found the street noise to be relentless. Buses and trucks use the street on a regular basis and can be heard all day and night. I would definitely try another hotel next time, so many others to choose from.

Location and staff - SuperiorPosted 5-Apr-2014
Pros: I liked the location and the staff. When I checked out, I felt like I was leaving behind some friends....Joe Michael, David and Brandon were great!
Cons: Some updates to the property would go a long way to presenting this hotel as top notch.
Location: This hotel is situated just 1/2 block off of Waikiki Beach and very near to many restaurants and the shopping district.
David, Brandon and Joe Michael were exceptional at the Front Desk. They were always available and helpful whenever the concierge was not on duty. They alone, are one reason I will return to this hotel The location is perfect. The property could use some updates, however, the room and all areas were well kept. I stayed here for 14 nights. Not one issue - and everyone was personable and courteous.
