First visit to WaikikiPosted 19-Sep-2014
Pros: It's locality to the restaurants and shops.
Cons: Parking the car was expensive, (velet only)
Hotel was situated well for the restaurants etc, valet parking was expensive, other than that enjoyed our stay.

Great staff, great amenitiesPosted 11-Sep-2014
Pros: Staff, location, amenities - they have free yoga, bicycles and a number of activities for guests
Location: Ala Moana shopping center, Waikiki
We've stayed at the Luana about four times and somehow each time seems to get better. The staff are wonderful - especially Ebony and Saori who are always able to make you feel special and are helpful in every way. The hotel is a little back from Waikiki, closer to Ala Moana, which suits us fine. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The street side can be a bit noisy.

Awesome experiencePosted 8-Sep-2014
I thought the hotel was gonna be very old but the hotel was awesome and no one bothered you everyone was nice and friendly and not super over priced the only thing is that if you are renting a car they charge $35.00 parking fee per day. But will DEFFINATELY stay there again.

First time in hawaiiPosted 2-Sep-2014
Great hotel. Not cluttered by all the other Waikiki hotels. Easy to access roads to get to other places. Short walking distances to restaurants and mall. Pool was tiny, but we spent most of our time at the beaches.

Great Location, Very Good ExperiencePosted 1-Sep-2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, friendliness and helpfulness of staff.
Cons: Different information from multiple staff re: late check out availability.
Location: 5 min walk to Fort De Russy beach. Great location to walk to many restaurants, shopping & bus stops for public trans. to tourist attractions.
All around this hotel and it's staff were great. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable, the hotel was clean and in an excellent location. Five minute walk to Fort DeRussy beach, short walk to waikiki beach. The only thing that concerned us was the information given to us when we asked for late checkout. On our first day, we asked for late check out. The staff at the desk advised us to check with someone at the front desk the day before our departure date as they would have more accurate information about available rooms on our dep. date. The night before our day of departure, we asked again if we could have a late check out and the person at the desk said she could give us a 2:00 pm late check out but she couldn't guarantee it because she didn't know how many rooms were available for the next day. She then proceeded to say that if we paid $75.00 she could guarantee us a 6:00 pm late check out. We told her we would check again in the morning. When we checked in the morning, the person at the desk said that she could give us 1:00 pm late check out and that was the best they could do. Our suggestion would be to advise staff to make sure everyone gives the customer the same information. The number of different options we were told makes us wonder if they were being honest with us. It would have been more acceptable if all of the staff would have told us to check at the front desk on the morning of our departure. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice, comfortable room. Great location.Posted 31-Aug-2014
Pros: Room comfort. Hotel location.
Cons: Hotel condition. Front desk staff.
Our check-in experience was a wonderful one, thanks to Jackie. Our check-out, however, was completely opposite. The older Japanese women was unfriendly and cold, like she just wanted to get rid of the check-out guests so she could go back to her reading. Our room was clean, nice, and comfortable. No hotel fees, but $35 parking/night was steep. The elevator ride was rather rough for me. I tried taking the stairs (located outside) but they were dirty. Overall, I'd still recommend this hotel for the rates we got and also, its location. Tip: Ask for Jackie if you want your experience to be a pleasant one.

Good location, spacious roomsPosted 15-Aug-2014
We spent three nights at this hotel which is centrally located, plentiful of restaurants within walking distance and close to Waikiki beach. We took advantage of the free bikes rental and explored the area. Rooms are big although they look a bit dated, especially the bathroom. Beds are very comfortable and even if we had a room next to the elevator, it was very quiet. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Nice stayPosted 7-Aug-2014
Pros: The room has microwave, if you ask. Laundry facilities.
Cons: Maybe, more ventilation in the laundry area?
Location: Walking distance to most stores and Royal Hawaiian Center.
The staff, including housekeeping were great. I find them more accommodating and friendlier than the other more expensive hotel we stayed at in Waikiki. The person (in lost and found) I spoke with on 4-25-14 around 5pm (I wish I remembered her name) was wonderful. The rates are reasonable. The hotel has laundry facilities which I like.
