“AAAAHHH, The Ilikai!”
All the comfort and familiarity of an old friend. The staff were courteous and friendly with real old time ALOHA! The valet parking staff were right on the jump, the front desk greeted us with genuine warmth, the room attendants friendly and smiling. If I were going to spend the rest of my life in a hotel, The Ilikai is the kind of place I'd like to call home.
“Hope to return to the Ilikai soon”
This was my first time in Hawaii, and I chose the Ilikai based on what I heard from others who stayed there. I can honestly say I was very impressed with this hotel. I stayed for 8 nights and the room was always clean. There were always fresh towels and clean washed glasses and cups. The room had a fridge and a microwave oven and was very spacious. Whether it was housekeeping, the front desk , concierge, etc.- service was first class. They even had a washer and dryer on just about every floor. The location is great- It's just a 15 minute walk either to the heart of Waikiki (Restaurants, Shops, Nightlife, Etc.) or the Ala Moana Shopping Center , which also has a vast food court at affordable prices along with hundreds of stores. The beach is just a few minutes away. Whether you're travelling on business or simply on vacation, I would highly recommend the Ilikai. I hope to stay there again on my next trip to Hawaii.
“Very relaxing. Can't wait to visit again soon.”
All in all our trip was great. even though we had to walk the Waikiki Strip to get to our destination, there were many fascinating views and the hospitality of the hotel was really good as well.
“loved the Ilikai!”
the Ilikai was a great place... the staff was very nice and helpful... would definitely stay here again!
“convenient hotel”
nice place and convenient hotel
“Nice”
Service was excellent, all the staff polite, pleasant and helpful. The room was very nice, with a fairly recent remodel and a balcony. Much nicer than I expected as the rate was quite reasonable. The pool is small and the beach is a little bit of a walk away. The whole hotel is non-smokeing and clearly some folks break the rule. The ventilation for bathrooms is clearly shared and I got smoke from somewhere for a night or two but that's not the hotel's fault. I would definitely stay there again.
“very frienldy hotel”
My husband and I were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and met all our request very quickly. The room was spacious and clean, the view was unbelievable with a clear sight of the ocean. the location was great with everything with in walking distance. the only complaints I had was that the rooms were uninteresting and there was a large stain in our room that needed to be shampooed. Over all we had a fantastic time and woud stay there again if we go back to oahu.
“Fantastic view !”
From earlier reommendations, requested room with ocean view on upper floor. Given a 25th floor room with a view of the Hilton Hawaiian Village lagoon and the ocean, too. Very quiet. No disturbances from anywhere--no hallway noises or voices, not even when sitting on the balcony. It's an older hotel; rooms have been renovated and are quite large with one full wall of patio doors and windows, very spacious closets and bathroom. Clean room, comfortable bed. Convenient micro, refrig and coffee pot with mugs, glasses in the bathroom. (Better to request paper and styro cups.) FREE Wi Fi. Added one extra day to our stay, but had to move to another room. Accommodated our original request, keeping us on an upper floor with a fabulous ocean view. Very helpful front desk, especially Joli. Even accommodated our request for late checkout on last day since airport shuttle came at 2:00 pm. Very helpful, knowledgeable concierge on site.. Quite a few families with young children. Least expensive and best way to get to hotel-- airport shuttle-$9 one way, $15 r/t. Picks up at airport. Drops off in front of hotel. Trolleys pick up directly outside the hotel ($2 per trip)-- shopping trolley takes you to all important shopping areas and Waikiki beach; historic trolley to visit points of interest around town. Restaurants, ABC market right across street. Restaurants and small shops on site. Can visit Hilton Hawaiian Village next door if you want to shop even more.
“A decent older hotel”
This is an older hotel in close proximity to some brand new upscale hotels and it suffers in comparison. However, the price is good, the rooms are large and the lobby area is nice. The pool is small and stuck in an unattractive corner. Overall, good value for money, especially if you manage to get a rate discount.
“Good hotel at good location”
The hotel is within walking distance (15 min) of both Downtown Waikiki and the Ala Moana Mall and Beach Park. There is also plenty of shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity (e.g. the Wailana Coffee House). The rooms are spacious and comfortable and all hotel facilities are well kept. The swimming pool is rather small, but the Hilton Lagoon and Waikiki Beach are 100m away, reachable through a convenient pedestrian ramp.
