“Hawii's Best Kept Secret”
I am from Kona on the Big Island and I visit Oahu fairly often. I've stayed at numerous hotels and I must say that finding a place like The Equus for the price simply can't be beat. I've stayed at hotels that were roomier, but also much more expensive. The bed is incredibly comfortable and the room is very clean. Dollar for dollar, The Equus cannot be beaten. I will definitely stay there again and again. Mahalo, Jerome
“Excellent Service”
This as a class act hotel. The staff were informative about the area, our room was spotless, and very well furnished. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. I will definetly be back!
“convenient quiet access to waikiki”
this small boutique style hotel had all the central access one would need in a short stay on Oahu. The rooms were very pleasant and spacious, Despite its small lobby and unattached parking garage the service was prompt and courteous; and only a 10 min walk to the shopping centers, it was very convenient and affordable compared to other offerings in the area.
“Very nice, inexpensive boutique hotel in Honolulu.”
Very good location, staff could not have been more helpful. Very clean and recently remodeled. Breakfast was "minimal" consisting of some rolls, juice and coffee... Every room has a lanai with table and chairs. Room was "compact" but not small. Only negative I can think of was the lack of a desk.
“Great place!!!”
We stayed at the Equus for 7 night and absolutely loved it. Nice clean comfortable place. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was serviced everyday. Close proximity to everything, Honolulu side walk to have Magic Island (opposite Ala Moana Shopping) great for swimming. Shop at Ala Moana till 10.00pm. Have coffee at Wailana Cafe (opens 24 hours) just down the street. It also has a karaoke if you prefer to sing. Close to that is the Todai Japanese Seafood Restaurant, great place for dinner. Wonderful to ring anywhere local for free - can't beat that!! Overall we had a fab time there and will go back there again on our next trip.
“Great for the price and location”
Price and location made this hotel one to remember on our next visit to Waikiki. Room was renovated, clean, and quiet. Could not hear the neighbors. Free paper and continental breakfast were other plusses. No gym or on site spa, and pool was cold. Access to Waikiki and Ala Moana shopping center were terrific. We will also take the city bus from the airport in the future rather than a hotel shuttle service. Cost is $2 vs. $8 and travel time is not all that different.
“We would look forward to staying there again.”
The included internet service was a great added benefit. The location was very central and conveniet.
“Complementary continental breakfast a bonus!”
This hotel is close to shopping and the ocean! The staff is remarkable and courtious. The only disadvantage is if you have heavy luggage. There are about 12 steps to the entrance and the parking facilities are in another building next door. There is a remote control entrance for parking which makes it extremely easy. I've seen other facilities with key pad entry only on a steep hill which can be hazardous to your rental car, so get the insurance. It seems the parking facilities are extremely compact and for skilled drivers only!
“Return visit after 3 years”
This little hotel is a gem.Obliging, helpful, staff. Clean rooms . Great position. Good value for it's rating.
“Nice Place”
Nice hotel close to the beach and good places to eat. Pools a little cold but why swim there when the ocean is less than 2 blocks away
